Undercover

"Preparing to jump." Tech states. Hunter nods. Tech pushes the throttle forward and you enter hyperspace. You walk into the cockpit. "So... what's this mission supposed to be about?" You ask curiously. It's been a few days since you've been in space, or more specifically, outside Cid's cantina, so you are very excited to be going on a mission. "It's on a deserted planet. We're rescuing some sort of creature." Echo says. "What kind?" You reply. "Cid didn't say." Omega adds. "We'll also have to go undercover. This is in a very small town, so we can't stand out." Hunter adds. "Okay, what's the plan?" Hunter sighs. "You'll be undercover as my... wife." Your heart leaps and Wrecker stomps over and pushes you two together. "Awww, look at you two lovebirds!" He exclaims. Tech sighs and Echo ignores it. Hunter growls and pushes Wrecker away. "It's for a mission." He says, rolling his eyes. Wrecker laughs and walks to the back of the ship to giggle with Omega. Tech briefs you all for the mission. "Wrecker, you will be a civilian. Echo, you'll be a droid. And I will be a mechanic. Omega will stay with Hunter and Y/N." Echo groans. "A droid? Again?" Tech gives him a dirty look. "Yes, Echo." Echo crosses his arms. "C'mon! Why can't I be a shopkeeper or something?" Wrecker yells. "It will be less suspicious." Wrecker pouts and turns his back from Tech. However, Omega is in a chipper mood. She's so excited to see you and Hunter together on a mission. "Approaching Arvala-7." Echo says. 

You walk out of the refresher in your new clothes. You are wearing sandals, a cloth dress, and a wide brimmed straw hat. Hunter is wearing a poncho, (which he actually looks amazing in) and some normal pants, very different from his usual outfit of painted armor and Imperial blacks. Wrecker is wearing the same thing as Hunter, and Omega is wearing an adorable shirt and skirt combo. Tech is wearing a simple shirt which clearly has some grease stains from creating and fixing things. Echo looks exactly like a droid, so you jump when you bump into him. You all walk out of the Marauder and walk down the steps. Hunter signals for the squad to spread out. Omega walks in front of you and eagerly skips into the sandy terrain of Arvala-7. Around you are Womp Rats and little rabbits running by. You start walking out into the desert along the cracks in the dry ground. 

After a while, you find yourselves in front of a barn. You walk inside, Omega behind you. A rusty old sign reading something in Aurebesh is next to the door. Inside, there is a Ugnaught feeding a Bluurg. "What can I do for you?" She asks. "We are here to buy a Bluurg." Hunter says, eyeing a Bluurg in the corner of the stable. It looks like it's been hurt. Clearly it's the animal you're trying to rescue. The Ugnaught nods. "I am Sesniku. Which Bluurg would you like?" Hunter pauses. "That one in the corner." He says, pointing the the one in the corner. Omega is currently petting the other scaly creatures. "Are you sure about that?" Sesniku says. "That one's pretty injured." Hunter looks are her. "We'll take it." She eyes him suspiciously. "You can't ride that injured Bluurg back into town. I can't heal it." Hunter bites his lip, trying to figure out a solution. He looks very attractive doing this... "My wife here is a vet." He says. He looks at you with panic in his eyes, hoping you can do something. "That's right!" You add. Hunter watches as you walk over to the Bluurg in the corner. You see that its left hind leg has a deep cut in it. You take a deep breath in and place your hand on the wound. The Bluurg yelps a little bit, but you manage to calm it down. Omega watches in amazement as you heal the Bluurg with the Force. The Bluurg stands up and spins around happily, knocking you off your feet. Hunter catches you in his arms. You look into his eyes for a moment, then over to Sesniku. She stares at you, her eyes wide. "How?" She asks. You shrug and smile. "Usually that'd be 50 credits, but for what you just pulled there, I'll offer 30." Hunter nods and hands her the credits. She hands Omega a lead for the Bluurg. You all head outside. Hunter mounts the Bluurg with you behind him, Omega holding on to you. 

You meet up with the rest of the Bad Batch at a little bar. Wrecker stays with Omega outside while Echo and Tech come inside with you. Once you walk in, an eager waitress stops you. "Are you two married?" She points to you and Hunter. "If so, we offer couples 50% off tonight!" You look to Hunter. "We sure are..." Hunter says to her. She looks down at your left hand. "I don't see a ring." She frowns. Hunter looks at the credits in Tech's hand. We need  that discount. "She left it at home!" Hunter says. You look confused at him. "We're a couple." He says. He pulls you into his arms and kisses you. You try not to look shocked, but instead grin. Tech stands there with his mouth wide open, and Echo with his droid disguise on is standing, his body stiff. The waitress smiles. "Uh, right this way!" You all follow her. She stares at Tech and Echo. "They're with us. They're friends." She's confused, but goes along with it. Tech orders drinks for all of you. You all sit in silence for all of dinner except for when everyone laughed when Echo asked for two boxes for the leftover food in his "droid voice". 

You get back to the ship, mentioning nothing to Omega and Wrecker about the kiss. Hunter pulls you aside. "Y/N... If I made you uncomfortable earlier, I didn't- I-" He starts. You interrupt him. "Hunter. It's okay. I... kind of liked it." You say, blushing profusely. He smiles a bit. "I thought Jedi weren't allowed to love." He teases. "It is Order 66. I'm also part of a squad of rule breakers, aren't I?" You laugh. "So... are we... a thing?" You asks. "I guess we are. But, if you wouldn't mind waiting to tell anybody for a bit? I don't want to make things weird with the rest of the squad." He says. You nod. "Of course, boyfriend." You say walking towards the ship. The rest of the ship goes to bed. You eventually fall asleep dreaming of the undercover kiss.
