Ian had a special surprise for Nina for their 5th wedding anniversary and that was to take her in a weekend trip to Italy while his parents watched the kids. All three were upset they weren't going to join their parents but it only lasted for a good five minutes before they had gone off to play with their grandpa, Ian's dad, in the yard.

"Thank you again Mom for watching the kids for us while we're away," Ian said but Edna only waved him off.

"You and Nina have a wonderful time away, and enjoy your trip as much as you can," she said with a smile just as Nina walked into the living room after having been packing the last of their things.

"You're a saint, Edna, we couldn't have been luckier to have you close by to watch the kids," she said and Edna smiled as she walked over to her daughter-in-law and gave her a hug.

"You two just enjoy your vacation," she said and Nina and Ian nodded. After the pair, after saying their goodbyes to the kids and Ian's parents, headed to the airport. Nina still not having a clue that they were heading to a whole other country and not another state.

"So where are we going exactly?" Nina asked as Ian drove them to the airport but he only tapped his nose and she huffed shaking her head, "am I at least going to enjoy it?"

"Yes," he replied and she nodded as she got comfortable in her seat.

"Neens? Baby wake up," Ian said as he gently shook his pregnant wife up and she groaned turning away but he shook her again, "come on love, we're at the airport." Nina blinked her eyes as as she sat up and stretched her arms, "come on, you can sleep once we're on the plane."

She yawned before stepping out of the car and flowing Ian to the trunk to grab her purse as he grabbed their suitcases and his carrying on bag.

Cameras flashing and paparazzi calling their names as they made their way into the packed building followed after then before the noise of the crowd drowned them out. Fans of the pair walked up to them and asked for a photo or signature as they congratulated them on not just their pregnancy but on their anniversary.

"Thank you," Nina smiled as she signed a final photo of her and Ian from the time they were on TVD. "I'm exhausted."

"I know but we're almost there," Ian as he led then towards the private plane and once all things were done, they climbed the steps of the plane with Nina making a beeline to the bedroom and crawling under the blankets and dozing of as soon as her head hit the pillow. During the first few weeks of her pregnancy, Nina had no symptoms but as of late, she's more tired then usual but both Ian and her knows it's normal. After getting the pilot along with the stewardess, joined Nina in the room and set set his carrying in bag next to Nina's discarded one and clowns in beside her after changing into a pair of sweatpants.

He dozed off as he felt the plane begin to make its trip down the runway and not long after they were in the air.

Nina and Ian, after their hour nap, left thr room and walked to the living room area of the plane and buckled up. They still had 14 hours of flight to go.

"Can I ge you both anything to eat?" The stewardess asked as she walked towards them with a cart and the pair nodded, "we have steak and mashed potatoes, chicken parmigiana as well as chicken and steak sandwiches."

"I'll have the steak and mashed potatoes," Nina said with a smile, "do you have orange juice or apple juice?"

"I do, which one would you like?"the young woman asked with a smile as she placed Nina's dinner in front of her. Nina has also recently started craving steak and mashed potatoes.

"Apple please," the mother of soon to be four said and the stewardess nodded as she filled a cup of the juice and placed it before her before turning to the handsome man across from her.

"And you? What would you like?" She questioned with a flirty smile that Ian ignored as he watched Nina eat her meal.

"The same as my wife thank you," he replied and the blonde woman nodded as she placed his meal in front of him before walking away to sit with her co-worker.

"How long is this flight?" Nina asked and Ian raised a brow making her roll her eyes, "fine."

"You'll love it, I promise." He replied with a smile that had Nina sighing but she couldn't help but smile and nod. As much as she wanted to act lien she didn't want to wait for what Ian had in stored for their wedding anniversary, she was actually excited. She always loved when Ian surprised her with trips whenever they got the chance to spend time together with their busy schedules and the kids.

"I love you," Ian said as he held his hand towards her and Nina melted as she smiled and placed her hand on top of his.

"I love you, too."
