"You ready?" Ian asked Nina as he walked into the living room where she was currently checking their suitcases to make sure that they had everything they needed for their trip to Bulgaria. They were going to be celebrating the holidays and Ian's birthday there with Nina's family before flying back to LA for New Year since they had projects that they needed to work on.
Nina looked up from her packing, a smile spreading across her face as she saw Ian. "I think so," she said, gesturing to the neatly organized suitcases. "I've got everything for the kids, just need to grab a few more things for us."
Ian nodded, walking over to her and wrapping his arms around her waist. "I can't wait for this trip," he said, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "It's going to be so nice to spend the holidays with your family."
Nina leaned into his embrace, sighing contently. "I know, I'm really looking forward to it too. And it'll be the first time we're traveling as a family of six since Enzo was born. It's going to be an adventure, that's for sure."
Just then, Blaire, Arrow, and Duncan came running into the room, their eyes wide with excitement. "Are we going yet?" Blaire asked, bouncing up and down.
Nina laughed, ruffling Blaire's hair. "Not quite yet, sweetie. We still have some things to do before we leave."
Arrow and Duncan nodded eagerly, already starting to bicker about who would get to sit next to Enzo on the plane. Ian and Nina shared a fond look, grateful for their energetic and loving children.
Maverick, their golden retriever, came padding into the room, his tail wagging furiously. He nudged Enzo's carrier with his nose, whining softly. Enzo stirred in his sleep but didn't wake up, snuggled in his soft blankets.
"I think Maverick's excited for the trip too," Ian chuckled, scratching the dog behind the ears.
Nina giggled. "He definitely knows something's up. He's been following us around all morning."
As they finished packing and got everything ready, the excitement in the house continued to build. The kids couldn't stop talking about all the fun things they were going to do in Bulgaria – seeing their grandparents, playing in the snow, eating delicious food.
Finally, they were all set to go. Ian loaded the suitcases into the car while Nina settled the kids and Maverick in their seats. Enzo was still sleeping soundly, oblivious to the chaos around him.
As they drove to the airport, the kids chattered non-stop, their voices blending together in a joyful cacophony. Ian and Nina shared a smile, happy to see their children so excited and full of life.
When they arrived at the airport, the hustle and bustle of travelers filled the air. Ian parked the car and they all got out, managing the suitcases and strollers with practiced ease.
After checking in their luggage and going through security, they found a quiet corner to wait for their flight. The kids ran around, exploring the airport and pointing out all the interesting sights.
As the time for boarding approached, Ian gathered them all together for a quick pep talk. "Remember, we're representing our family on this trip. Let's show everyone how well-behaved and polite we can be, okay?"
The kids nodded solemnly, understanding the importance of good behavior in public. Enzo gurgled happily in his carrier, oblivious to the seriousness of the moment.
Finally, it was time to board the plane. They settled into their seats, the kids buzzing with excitement as they looked out the window at the bustling tarmac.
As the plane taxied down the runway and took to the skies, Nina felt a rush of emotions – excitement, anticipation, and a deep sense of gratitude for her family. They were embarking on a new adventure together, and she knew it was going to be a trip they would never forget.
The flight passed quickly, filled with laughter, games, and shared snacks. The kids were surprisingly well-behaved, earning approving nods from the other passengers.
When they landed in Bulgaria, the warmth of Nina's family enveloped them like a comforting hug. Hugs and kisses were exchanged, gifts were opened, and the house was filled with the sound of laughter and love.
As they settled into their temporary home for the holidays, Nina looked around at her family – Ian, the kids, Maverick, and baby Enzo – and felt a sense of deep contentment. This was where she belonged, surrounded by the people she loved most in the world.
The days that followed were filled with joy and celebration. They went skiing in the mountains, visited ancient ruins, and enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals prepared by Nina's mother.
On Ian's birthday, they threw a big party with all of Nina's extended family. The house was filled with music, laughter, and the smell of delicious food. Ian blew out the candles on his cake, surrounded by his loved ones, and made a silent wish for many more happy birthdays to come.
As the New Year approached, they packed up their suitcases once again, ready to fly back to LA. It was hard to say goodbye to Nina's family, but they knew they would see them again soon.
On the plane ride home, Nina snuggled up against Ian, feeling his warmth and love surrounding her. She looked out the window at the twinkling lights below, thinking about all the memories they had made on this trip.
When they landed in LA, they were greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of home. The kids ran ahead, eager to be back in their own beds and familiar surroundings.
As they settled back into their daily routine, Nina knew that their trip to Bulgaria would always hold a special place in her heart. It was a time of togetherness, love, and adventure – a time she would never forget.
And as they welcomed the New Year together, surrounded by their family and friends, Nina felt a deep sense of gratitude for the life they had built together. She knew that no matter where their travels took them, they would always be home as long as they were together.
