It was nearly two weeks later, and Aliya had turned into a monster.

Okay, calling her a monster may seem like a slight over exaggeration to the naked eye.

But for Jackson Avery who had to live with her twenty four seven for the past eleven days, it was not.

It was actually him showing kindness towards her, other than comparing her to something else.

He didn't know if it was the morning sickness that actually wasn't just exclusively in the morning time but periodically at regular intervals throughout the day, or the limited amounts of coffee she could consume in a twenty four hour period but, McSunshine had appeared to be stood directly under a gigantic rain cloud.

However, as she hit the seven week mark of her pregnancy, she seemingly appeared to be brightening up a bit, which was a relief to say the least.

"Morning, sunshine." Jackson joked as Aliya stepped into the kitchen at seven o'clock and wiped the sleep tiredly from her eye.

"Good morning!" She grinned back at him, which took him completely by surprise, making him do a double take to ensure she had entered the room and it wasn't some sort of hallucination of the idea he had of her in his mind.

He watched her with unwavering caution as she moved to her prized possession (her coffee machine), accepting her fate and taking out the decaf coffee pouch of coffee grinds.

The Avery man had been just starting to get used to being on the receiving end of a less than cheery greeting from her in the morning due to the influx of decaf coffee, so this threw him completely off his game.

"You're—" He straightened up, his eyes still watching her every move as she scooped the coffee into the portafilter. "—Brighter today."

Aliya laughed, almost hysterically which forced out a nervous sort of chuckle from her boyfriend, who didn't exactly know if she was going crazy or not. "What are you talking about? I'm always bright, I'm the brightest."

It was the decaf coffee talking, Jackson told himself. It had appeared to have taken over her body and had camped out inside her bloodstream as her system grew rid of caffeine, controlling her brain. Making her forget to turn the oven off after she cooked her pizza, making her forget to turn the water off and flooding the entire upstairs bathroom.
