season seven, episode ~

❝ the secret was out. i knew her diagnosis
but you still didn't say a word!

It had been three days since Thanksgiving, and Aliya was thanking the gods above that she was on a flight back home to Seattle right now.

She had spent four whole days in her mother and father's house in Malibu, and it was driving her clinically insane.

She almost wished she had recorded the conversations she had in those four walls, as nobody would believe the stuff that had come out of her mother's mouth without video evidence.

"Hey, where are you?" Jackson questioned from the other line of the call once Aliya's plane had landed.

"Oh, hi!" Aliya beamed, balancing the phone in the crook of her neck as she slung her carry over her shoulder, her suitcase beside her. "I'm at the airport gift shop, you can get three keychains for ten dollars, how amazing is that?"

"That's great, sweetheart." He chuckled at how distracted she got when left to her own devices, and how he had been walking around the airport for twenty minutes trying to find her.

"Ah! There's a fluffy one!" She picked up the blue fluffy bird keychain with a grin, analysing it into her palm.

"Oh, yeah?" Jackson's voice was amused as Aliya continued to stare at all the keychains instead of actually trying to find her boyfriend in this airport. "The ferryboat one looks pretty cool."

Aliya knotted a brow, looking up at the ferryboat one and setting the blue bird one back on the stand to reach out for it.

That was when it clicked, that the only way Jackson could know there was a ferryboat keychain was if he was standing right behind her.

She whipped her hair around, eyes searching the airport around her and when she finally saw him, making his way towards her with a perfect smile on his stupid face.

Aliya beamed wide, reaching for her suitcase handle and rushing over to him, instantly crashing into his chest as she breathed in the smell of cedar and pine.

She sunk into his arms as if they were made for her, her hands wrapping around his neck as they held each other tight.

"Oh, aren't I happy to see you." She smiled into his shirt, feeling the most comfort she had felt in the past few days and it just so happened to be in his arms.
