chapter thirty one P.Y.T. (pretty young thing)
season seven, episode fourteen

❝ my whole life at the moment
consists of trucks, cabins and spoons. ❞

It had been exactly two months since Aliya had broken up with Jackson.

But, it wasn't as simple and clean cut as that.

That didn't account for what had actually happened in that time, and everything that had led up to where they were now— still living under the same roof, still freezing every single time they saw one another.

Where the entire month of January was spent harbouring resentment and making mental checklists of everything they hated about each other, the month of February was dedicated to the avoidance.

Everyone in the house knew they were both miserable, but Aliya was too stubborn to admit her wrongs and Jackson was too proud to let his armour down.

Because, now they were a few footsteps away from the month of March, which marked one whole week until Aliya's twenty ninth birthday and she was seriously beginning to consider booking a one way ticket to Greece.

It had also been a month and a half since the start of the clinical trial, and that was Aliya's only saving grace at this point. The trial was over the best distraction a girl could have ever asked for.

Though, despite the wealth of distractions, the thing was that she was actually being deadly serious about this whole spontaneously uprooting her life to Greece idea, but she would wager that there were a few people who would have an objection to this sudden need to move to Europe.

The brunette yawned into her palm as the bright glare from her laptop screen shone directly in her eyes at six o'clock in the morning, her cursor hovering over the book now button of the website.

It was looking a little too tempting right now.

"What do you think, huh buddy?" She stroked her dog's ear, where his chin was rested upon her knee as he snored contently, not even moving an inch to put a stop to this Greece trip. Reese was an enabler to Aliya's ways. "It's warmer in Greece than it is here right now."
