"You... you were pressing my hair." My voice trembled uncontrollably.
The man slightly opened his eyes, withdrew his arm that was under my head, and hoarsely said, "Not waiting for him anymore?"
My heart skipped a beat.
He propped himself up with one hand, revealing a smooth half of his abdominal muscles.
He seemed to be even more drunk than me.
In this situation, if I still waited for Vernon, wouldn't that be like courting death?
"No." I was about to escape--
"Can you pour me a glass of water?" His voice sounded like it came from deep within his chest.
I stood there, unsure of how to refuse, so I reluctantly said, "Okay," and went to the kitchen like a thief to pour him a glass of water and handed it to him.
His face was pale, and it seemed like he was about to be sent to the hospital in the next second. Out of concern for his safety, I asked, "Are you... okay?"
He took the glass, took a small sip, and let out a long sigh with a chuckle. "I'm getting old, can't handle young girls anymore."
My scalp instantly went numb.
I am guilty, so I must escape.
"Come back," he held my hand and pushed the door that I had just opened back.
I was forced against the door, he lowered his head and looked at me, reaching out to pinch my chin. His thumb forcefully brushed over my lips, and then he suddenly kissed me. A painful and tingling sensation shot up from the soles of my feet to my legs. I hadn't eaten anything in the morning, and my stomach cramped. I slid to the ground and sat there, not moving.
"My feet are numb," I said with a mournful face.
He lifted me up and stood me up. "Ma Belle, don't test my patience."
He picked me up and gently placed me on the bed, kissing me again. His hands slid down my cheeks to my slender neck, exploring the edge of my bra, causing me to shiver. I thought I was about to fall into the lion's den again, but unexpectedly, he withdrew his hand, placed mine back by my side, and then pulled over the nearby blanket to cover me. "You're tired, get some more sleep."
