When she fell asleep, my mind was filled with Albert involuntarily.

Just then, he gently knocked on the door and entered.

My heart started racing again.

"I arranged for a nurse for your classmate. You can sleep on the adjacent bed for a while" he said.

"No need," I quickly refused. "She hasn't stayed in the hospital before, and waking up next to a stranger might make her uncomfortable."

He paused for a moment. "Alright... then you can lie down for a while."

"Okay."

He looked around and added, "Since your classmate is a girl, it's not convenient for me to stay here. I'll be outside in the corridor. Call me if you need anything."

And so, I stayed in the ward with my roommate, while he stayed outside.

During this time, he didn't say he liked me, but I felt happy.

The whole night felt so surreal to me.

Does this mean I'm in love?

Occasionally, I would send him a message, and he would reply promptly.

We spent the night in the ward and outside, communicating in this way.

Even when I later thought back, I felt overwhelmed by the happiness.

The next day, he brought me breakfast and left it next to me before leaving.

When I woke up and looked at the breakfast and the empty corridor outside, it felt like last night was a dream.

But the dream was over, there was breakfast, and it felt so real.

Just as I was still immersed in the sweet happiness, Vernon arrived.

"Why are you here?" I was shocked.

"I heard from the dormitory manager that you were sick?" He looked me up and down, with a serious expression. Then he sighed and softened his voice, "Where does it hurt?"

"I'm not sick, my roommate is." I didn't want to say much to him.

"Hmm..." He breathed a sigh of relief, stopped me from leaving, and said, "Lo, next time don't try to be strong, why didn't you come to me?"

"What do you mean now?" I directly confronted him.

"What's wrong with me helping you before you had other male friends?" He said as if it was only natural.

I couldn't help but smile. "Why do you think I don't have any male friends besides you?"

"I know you," he said confidently, "Deep down, you still love me. We shouldn't be like this."

I couldn't help but laugh and cry.

I had a headache and didn't know how to tell him directly that I no longer had feelings for him.

"Just sign here, young lady." Just as we were arguing, a nurse passed by and handed me a folder.

Both Vernon and I looked at the folder at the same time.

"Here's the thing, the man who was with you last night paid for three days of nursing care. We need your signature to confirm it every day. He asked me to find you to sign when he left."

I suspiciously glanced at Vernon's reaction, then nervously picked up the pen to sign.

It wasn't until I finished signing that I realized the top line read: "Payer, Albert."

His handwriting was really nice.

But now obviously wasn't the time to appreciate that.

"A man?" Vernon looked at me skeptically.

"It's the gentleman who stayed with me all night last night. He was so kind, he gave us money but didn't let us do any work. He did everything himself. He's really good to me, is he your boyfriend?" The nurse seemed very excited, but I wanted to cover her mouth.

"Done signing." I handed the folder to her, hoping she wouldn't say anything more.

However, as luck would have it, the next second, Vernon snatched the folder away.

"Lorraine!" I tried to grab it back, but he held it up high and opened it.

When he saw the name Albert, the air froze.
