It was already evening.
Rubbing my waist, I finally understood the meaning of "asking for trouble".
"I was planning to let you off for a while longer, but since you're being disobedient, I won't let you off anymore. You deserve it." These were his exact words.
I confirmed firsthand that what they say online about the first time is true...
I cried...
"Can you get up?" He was dressed in a suit, looking all neat and tidy.
"No." I felt a mixture of embarrassment and indignation.
"Sleep for another half an hour." He sighed. "We can't miss Grandfather's birthday banquet."
"You go, don't mind me." Although I understood the meaning behind his words, I pretended not to.
He didn't say anything, just smiled at me and gave me a bottle of water. "Aren't you afraid that Grandfather will arrange my engagement?"
My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn't even drink the water smoothly. In a fit of anger, I said, "I don't care."
He paused for a moment, then reached out and pinched my cheek. "You're saying it's none of your business?"
"I don't know." I refused to look at him.
But suddenly, he leaned in close to my face, an intense aura pressing against me as he whispered, "Is it still not enough? Is that why you're being so disobedient?"
"You..." I didn't know how to argue back.
He laughed, a carefree laugh, and finally straightened up, moving away a bit.
"I'm so worried about you, I can't even handle it."
I refused to go to his father's birthday banquet.
But Albert insisted, and I couldn't resist. He was quite stubborn in this regard.
As we walked to the door, I was still afraid and wanted to keep a distance from him. However, he forcefully held my hand, paying no attention to the surprised or provocative gazes around us.
When Vernon's mother saw me, her first reaction was to smile and come over to chat with me affectionately. But the moment she saw Albert holding my hand, her smile froze.
" Lorraine?" She looked at me, then at him.
I couldn't help but want to pull my hand out of his grip, but he held on tightly.
"Auntie." I could only stand there awkwardly.
"You two... what is this..." She was clearly so shocked that she didn't know what to say.
" Lorraine..." Vernon also noticed me immediately. His gaze was fierce, full of disappointment and resentment towards me.
I didn't say anything. I regretted coming here a little, feeling so embarrassed. I felt like I was being paraded out to be mocked and ridiculed.
And right now, it was just Vernon's family. Later, there would be even more relatives of theirs that I knew.
