A week later, as soon as I stepped into the classroom, I noticed people pointing and whispering about me.

Upon closer inspection, it was Vernon. He had brought that junior girl to class.

What a couple. It had been a week since that incident, and I thought I had moved on.

But seeing them appear in front of me like this, my heart still felt a twinge of pain.

I stood there for a few seconds, then chose to skip class.

Walking down the hallway with my books, my heart felt incredibly bitter.

My arm was suddenly grabbed. "Why are you skipping class?" Someone asked.

I didn't need to look back to know who he was.

"None of your business." I shrugged off his hand.

"Who are you learning from? Talking to me like this." Vernon stood in front of me, looking at me with a frustrated gaze.

" Vernon, are you crazy?" I couldn't help but yell at him. "You ignore your girlfriend and come bother me, your ex?"

He stood still, looking extremely shocked.

Well, from the beginning, our relationship was unequal. I was always begging him, and indulging him. He had never seen me with such a temper before.

Thinking of this, I laughed.

I didn't lack temper; I was just afraid of losing him and hid my true self.

"You..." he was so angry that he couldn't speak. Finally, he handed me a bag and said, "Do you really think I have nothing better to do? If it wasn't for my uncle asking me to bring this to you, why would I... come and suffer?"

His uncle?

I looked at the bag in his hand. I was nervous because I didn't know the reason behind it.

"He said it's your lost student card." He handed me the bag and suddenly remembered something. He asked, "How did your student card end up with him?"

His question left me speechless, and my arrogant demeanor disappeared instantly.

I had noticed that my student card was missing a while ago, but I never thought it would be with him.

How else could I have lost it? Of course, I must have dropped it in his room.

Damn it.

"Did you drop it in his car that day?" he asked, not in a good mood.

"Yes." I thanked him for providing me with a good excuse and immediately felt relieved.

"Why do you always trouble others? Do you know how busy my uncle is? He's been abroad for a week and still cares about your card. Can't you give people a break?" he started lecturing me again.

I was annoyed. I used to be afraid of losing him, but now that I had already lost him, what was there to be afraid of?

"Can you just shut up?" I snapped at him. "Do you have the right to lecture me now? Who are you to me?"

Once again, he was shocked by my words.

"Vernon, I was blind before, but now please go and torment your junior girl," I said and walked away, carrying the bag.

As I turned around, I saw his face alternating between pale and dark, and it brought me a sense of satisfaction.

Didn't expect this, did you, Vernon? You have your own troubles now.
