He didn't say anything, his face turned completely dark, and he handed the folder back to the auntie.

I felt the fear of being caught doing something wrong.

"Why is my uncle here?" His smile stiffened, "Aren't you going to explain?"

"He came to see a doctor, just happened to run into me, what's there to explain?" I said with guilt.

"So..." He took out a photo from his pocket, "You just happened to run into each other and hugged?"

At the moment I saw the photo, my mind went blank, and chills ran down my spine.

"Vernon, were you following me?" My heart died completely.

"The photo was given to me by someone else. I thought you had really moved on from me. I never expected you to seduce my uncle. Is this your way of getting back at me?" His voice trembled as he asked me.

"It's not what you think between me and him. Don't talk to me like that!" I didn't know how to explain.

"He's my uncle! Have you lost your mind?" He grabbed my arm and shook me, causing my head to ache.

"So what if he's your uncle? I haven't stolen or taken anything from you. I don't owe you anything." I bit my lip and stared back at him.

His anger evident in his eyes as if he wanted to tear me apart.

I refused to back down and we stood there, locked in a stalemate.

In the end, he let go of me, sighed, and said coldly, "Let's end this. My uncle is not someone you can hold."

I didn't respond to him and turned back to the ward.

He left afterwards. But his words continued to linger in my mind.

The more I thought about it, the more guilty and restless I felt. Unable to resist anymore, I messaged Albert.

"Are you busy?" After thinking for a long time, I realized I didn't have the right to question him.

I even began to doubt whether the kiss last night meant anything, whether it was just a momentary infatuation or if it had escalated into something more ambiguous. He hadn't made any promises to me.

I waited anxiously for a reply, but there was no response for a while. My heart grew increasingly restless.

Suddenly, my phone lit up. "A little."

"Oh." I didn't know what else to say, afraid of bothering him.

"What's wrong? Are you tired?" he asked me.

"A little." The words I wanted to ask just wouldn't come out. I was torn.

"If you're tired, take a nap. I'll call you after the meeting."

He's in a meeting?

"Then go ahead with your work." I suddenly felt a bit ashamed. He was busy with his job, yet he still took the time to message me.

"Not very busy. I'll keep chatting with you." He suddenly changed his mind about stopping, "Tell me, what's wrong?"

"Nothing..."My rational side told me not to bother him with trivial matters, but deep down, I wanted to talk to him to find a moment of peace.

"Don't want to talk to me?" he asked again, "Do you think there's a generation gap between you and me?"

I really wanted to know how he managed to say such nonsense to me with a serious face while in a meeting.

"No, let's talk after your meeting, okay?" I surrendered.

"That'll have to wait until tonight." He sent a sighing emoji.

"It's okay, we can chat tonight." I replied.

"Tonight?"

I could imagine the expression on his face when he typed those two words. I was really embarrassed.

"No... I mean, after your meeting, when you have some free time." I was desperately trying to explain.

But he casually replied with a few words, "Okay, wait for me, little girl."

I turned off my phone and realized my ears were burning.

Now it's even harder to explain.
