What should I do?
"I'll stay a bit longer," I desperately fanned my cheeks with both hands, trying to cool down.
It was no use.
Seeing that the window was still open, I guiltily rolled it up completely.
"What are you afraid of?" he chuckled, looking at me amused.
"It's not good if we're seen," I whispered.
I couldn't help but wonder if his experience as a mature man made him fearless. How was he not worried at all?
"Why?" he asked.
Seeing him ask me seriously why, I was even more speechless. "It looks like we're having an affair."
He stifled a laugh and looked me up and down. "You're too young for that, aren't you?"
"You..." Why did everything he said make me feel like there was a double meaning? Was it my problem?
"I'm leaving..." I went to open the car door.
This time, he directly grabbed my arm.
"You've given me money, sewed my clothes, and even refused the cardholder. I should at least treat you to a meal," he said.
I turned my head and looked at his hand on my arm. He gentlemanly retracted his hand.
"No need," I didn't want to eat anything.
"Aren't you afraid of running into Vernon now?" He didn't come to pull me, just stared at me with meaning, "That brat might be somewhere, waiting to see who gets off my car."
I really hadn't thought about that.
And the way I was just now, even though he couldn't see my face, I was worried that he had already recognized me and was hiding somewhere, watching. It seemed like something he would do.
After thinking for a moment, I said, "Then... can we go somewhere more remote to eat?"
I was really scared. I couldn't imagine if Vernon saw me and his uncle, he would definitely give me a lecture.
It was something that didn't even happen, I couldn't be bothered with misunderstandings.
"You still want it to be remote, huh..." The car started and sped down the road. Suddenly, he said, "Are you trying to run away from me?"
"No!" I was a bit confused.
"You're quite bold," he glanced at me and stopped speaking.
My face turned even redder.
"You..." I simply turned my face to the other side, afraid to look at him.
Whenever I talked to him, I always seemed to be at a disadvantage.
Forget it, I thought to myself.
With that thought, I finally felt a sense of relief.
