There was a time when I was alone. No where to go and no place to call home.
It was the summer after high school when we first met.
I was looking for a lover. Thought I'd find her in a bottle.
Finally found the missing part of me. Felt so close but you were far away.
Your so hypnotizing. You've got me laughing while I sing, you've got me smiling in my sleep.
But I put her out like the burn at the end of a midnight cigarette.
Oh why can I not conquer love?
I can't feel anything. When will I learn?
Now I miss screaming and crying and kissing in the rain.
It's 2am and I'm cursing your name.
I just wanna be drunk when I wake up.
Cause when your fifteen and someone tells you they love you, your gonna believe them.
How do you get here under my skin? I swore that I'd never let you back in.
I can't look at you in the same light; knowing what you did my heart doesn't feel right.
But right now I wish you were here with me. Cause right now everything is new to me.
I'm addicted to you but you know that you're toxic.
The one that I came with, she had to go. But you look amazing standing alone.
And if you know me like I know you, you should love me.
So won't you stay with me.
Turn the light off. I wanna be with you. I wanna feel your love.
Settle down with me. Cover me up. Cuddle me in.
Your heart's against my chest. Your lips pressed to my neck.
Give me love.
But no, we're not friends. Nor have we ever been.
So why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?
Oh love is never ever simple.
Maybe tonight I'll call you after my blood turns into alcohol.
But I see no body but you.
Cause girl your perfect, your always worth it.
So one last time I need to be the one who takes you home.
Baby I'll never leave if you keep holding me this way.
This ain't love it's clear to see.
Sparks fly when we touch. But it was never enough.
You can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans. Holding me closer until our eyes meet.
So here's to teenage memories.
