"Let's go then," Fin said one morning after a silent drive to work. Things had been tense between them, and he was studiously ignoring his awareness of the reasoning for that. Olivia said it was fine if he didn't want kids, so it was fine.

He opened the car door. She didn't move. "Liv?"

"Hmm?"

"Are you okay?"

Well, damn. She never could sneak anything past him.

"I'm good. Why?"

"You're quiet this morning. Just...checking in."

"It's been a long week."

He sighed. "Are you mad at me?"

"I'm not mad. Let's go in." Olivia threw open her door as well.

"Liv-"

"I don't want to talk about it anymore. Why do you keep pushing?"

"Because you're not happy. You think I like feeling like this, like I'm holding you back?"

"I'm fine. You don't have to feel like that."

"That was convincing. Go ahead and lie through the nose, babygirl."

"Stop. Don't call me a liar. Why are you doing this?"

"You're tearing us apart! You're doing it like I've watched you do with every guy you've dated since I met you."

"Screw you," she whispered, tearful.

He flinched as she slammed her door closed and spun on her heel.

"Ah, hell," Fin muttered to himself. "Liv, I'm sorry. Hey, hang on!"

People were starting to stare. Officers walking into the precinct. Nick and Amanda, who were also heading in their direction.

"Hey, ya'll okay?" Amanda asked, looking between Fin and the storming away Olivia.

"We're fine."

"Then what was that?" Nick demanded before following Olivia.

As glad as Fin was that Olivia's new partner had her back, he shook his head once more before heading into the precinct.

"Olivia, wait."

"Leave me alone."

"I don't want to argue with you."

"Well, obviously you do, but I'm not doing it here."

"Of course not. Heaven forbid we face the music."

She stopped in her tracks and turned around. "Stop, Fin."

"No. If we can't agree on this, we can't be together."

"I love you."

"I love you, too, babygirl, but I can't give you what you want."

"I'm not asking you for anything else. I don't need a baby. I don't understand why you're doing this."

"I can tell you're upset, and I can't let you live without the one thing you want."

"I want you."

"I want you, too, but I can't do this to you. I'm sorry."

"You're breaking up with me?"

"Babygirl, you want to be a mom."

"I do, but-"

"If you're looking for an out, here it is."

"Fin, I'm not looking for an out. For God's sake, stop it."

"It's for the best."

"Enough!" Cragen interrupted. "There's a vic waiting at Mercy for Benson and Amaro. Finish this on your personal time."
