Ryo's POV
We now had swimming to see how well our swimming capabilities were. As I took off my shirt to get dressed, the other girls gasped. I looked at them curiously. "Is something wrong?" "You have a six-pack?" I look down. "Oh yeah. I work out a little so..." "A little?" Horkita raises an eyebrow. I ignore her and I change into a swimsuit. I groan internally. You can still see it.
I continue walking towards the pool and I see the boys from our class waiting. They scrutinize me. "Ryo, you have a six-pack?" One of the boys asks me. Just great, isn't it? I think to myself. "Oh, I just did a little exercise that's all," I use my power to make sure they believe me. "Oh makes sense," they say. Horikita and the other girls come in, and the boys admire their bodies. Horikita looks, my brother. "You have a well-built body as well, Ayanokoji-kun," she remarks. "Oh well, I used to do some home club back in middle school," he says. It's a feeble lie.
"The muscles on your arm and back don't seem to belong in the home club," she looks suspicious. "I guess it's just good genes," I say. She sighs, giving up. "Alright, if you two go that far to deny it, I'll believe you..." "Alright, students." I turn around to see a teacher there. "This might sound sudden, but I'll be examining your abilities right after you finish the warm-up. You will swim freestyle 50 meters. If you get first, you get 5,000 points, and if you are slow, you will have some extra lessons," he scans the class. "Trust me, it'll be useful later," he says. That catches my ear. Useful later? What does he mean by that? I try looking into his thoughts, but he's moved on to thinking about how well each person would do.
~After swimming finishes~
"Ryo-san, how did you do?" Horikita asks me. "Me? 35 seconds." "That's average," she remarks. I ignore her. I'm still pondering what the teacher meant by swimming was going to be useful later. I sigh. I hope these fun school days will go on forever. I whisper to myself. With powers like that, probably not. I hear Renji whisper into my ear. I suppose Renji is right.
Flash forward to May 1st
I walk in with my brother and I hear all the concerned voices. I don't even need to ask what has happened. Class D has not gotten their monthly allowance. I walk in calmly and my brother looks a little confused. I whisper, "We didn't get our monthly allowance." He looks a little surprised, but I don't care. I still have 92,933 points and my brother has a little bit less than that.
I sit down just as Chabashira-sensei comes in, and she gives us all an angry look. "The reason that you didn't get points this month was because of how bad you are doing. Most of you are using your points lavishly. Also," she writes down the number of class points each class has. Class D has 0. She continues talking about how we could get expelled if we don't do well on the next test." I see everybody look a little bit more serious except for the Three Idiots. "Seriously, 98 late arrivals and absences, 391 instances of using your phones during class." At the end of class, Chabashira-sensei stops me and my brother from going. "I need you two for a moment. We need to talk." We trade looks at each other and I don't want to know what is going to happen next.
She takes us to a kitchen that doesn't have the light on. "Stay quiet here and don't make any noise until l tell you it is okay for you two to come out. I'll expel you otherwise." As she closes the door, we both sit down on the floor, and I eavesdrop on what she is saying using my clairvoyance. "Excuse me," I see Horikita walk in. Horikita? Why is she trying to talk to Chabashira-sensei? I hear my brother think. I don't want to ruin it for him, so I keep quiet.
"Come on in," Chabashira-sensei says with a smile. "I will ask you this frankly... Why is that I... Have been placed in Class D?" "Really frank there, Horikita." "Today, Sensei said that the classes were divided by superiority and that Class D was the lowest collection of leftovers. Chabashira-sensei makes no comments which make Horikita a little nervous. Her heart rate went way up. When Chabashira-sensei talks it makes Horikita even more nervous. "Apparently, you consider yourself an excellent student." Horikita gets herself together. "I believe that I nearly solved all the problems on the entrance exam, and I don't remember making a mistake on it either..." She pauses. "At the very least, I don't think that I deserved to be in Class D."
