He's hiding something. I suppose a little background check won't hurt. I think to myself. I shake my head. Not now. The special exam is today. I go to the classroom as usual.

The order had been decided. Horikita allowed Koenji to do as he pleases, resigned to losing 4 points.

After the end of the exam, Karuizawa came forward. "It's time for me to forgive you." Horikita frowns. "I need to borrow the twins for a moment." Karuizawa looks dismayed. "But-" "It's Kiriyama that's calling us." I say.

When alone, my brother eyes Horikita. "You don't have to obey orders from them anymore."

"It's purely respect for seniors." Tsubasa was following us as secretary and had already prepared her materials to do her job.

Both Nagumo and Kiriyama were waiting for the new council. "Fuka is attempting to pursue a lawsuit against the council" He left his seat and allowed the new president to be seated. "It's interesting, the fact that you chose Kushida for vice-president.

With Horikita having that position, he had no say towards the matter as they turned their minds to the tardy Kiryuin. She eventually arrives and was ready to answer the new president's questions.

"I'm going to sue the council. Yamanaka confessed it was Nagumo." Kiryuin glares at Nagumo.

"I don't know what you are talking abut. I have long since lost interest in you and I wouldn't risk my reputation on something like that"."

Horikita looked at Kiriyama. "What is your opinion on this matter?"

Kiriyama, the culprit doesn't even flinch. "Nagumo isn't the type to do things so haphazardly and it is likely neither Nagumo nor Yamanaka as the mastermind."

Kiryuin, still eyeing Nagumo, crosses her arms. "I still think that Nagumo did it. Anyone that said otherwise was against me, even if the evidence piled up contradicts me."

Horikita looks at Kiryuin. "Do not report it to the school, as without evidence, an innocent person may just be punished for nothing."

Still wanting an apology from the culprit, Horikita looks at us. "Twins, please tell us you two's report."

Nagumo stopped himself from interrupting the new president's first task but still reasons, "I never told Tachibana to do anything."

"Even if Kiryuin-senpai wasn't close to Tachibana, he wouldn't be incentivised to harm her."

We did not give Horikita the full information to her and wanted to see whether her deduction will still be correct as she thought for a while before elaborating.

"I believe both Nagumo who said he never gave any orders, as well as the two who said Nagumo had ordered them. Someone close in power and relation to Nagumo had used his name to persuade the others into believing without the former president's knowledge."

She looks at Kiriyama. "Are you the one who did it?" Everyone except me and my brother looked shocked.

"The Ayanokoji twins' words can't be proven. I would never cross Nagumo. "

"A dog would never threaten its master." Kiryuin agrees. Horikita looks at Nagumo. "May I call upon the two witnesses?"

Nagumo shrugs. "Do as you please as President."

Kiriyama starts to crack. "It was me. I told Tachibana was that if he succeeds in having Kiryuin framed for shoplifting and not be caught, he would be guaranteed a spot in Class A. "

"If he had succeeded, Kiriyama's plot would have unravelled." Nagumo looks at Kiryuin. "He chose Kiryuin knowing it will fail, and adjusted the time schedule meeting to ensure conflict between parties would arise. All to shut down the student council election and decrease Ichinose's self-esteem."

Kiryuin admitted defeat and clapped. Nagumo smirks. "I knew that Ichinose would voluntarily drop out, I would have had no need to resort to this."

"This was an outright rebellion towards your arbitrary decisions, and I would have bought votes to win if need be. I'm tired of you using the Year 3s as your plaything, and being the scorn of others for standing close to him."

"I only choose the most self-centered and competent people to be in Class A, yet here you are." Nagumo looks impressed. "What should your punishment be... Hmm. Maybe I rescind the ticket to Class A for you." Kiryuin tries to leave early, leaving the punishment to Nagumo.

Horikita stops them all and lays out her conditions. "As President I'm going to have a say regarding this matter."

~Time skip~

I sit in my chair in the living room, thinking. Kage had told me his real name a long time ago. Kurama Shiraishi. He hated the name so when I met him in the White Room, I called him shadow butler or Kage.

I never really did a background check on who he was. I roll my chair to the desk and turn on the computer. I personalized it so I could use my psychic powers to access the information that people with power wouldn't want you to see.

I start by checking if there were any incidents regarding shadow manipulation.

Nothing.

I check his name. He was from a rich family and was multi-talented.

At the age of 3, he was able to play La Campanella flawlessly.

At the age of 5, he was able to recite 70,000 digits of pi.

At the age of 10, he was a black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu, Karate, and Judo.

At the age of 11, his cooking skills were on par with master chefs around the world.

He also had a very kind heart and had lots of friends at school.

He also had a brother. Hikari Shiraishi.

Hikari was born with a weaker body and the concern of his parents always went to him. Hikari had no special talents but him being weak gave him the attention. Hikari acted as if his brother never existed and never acknowledged him.

Kurama was jealous and always tried to get his parents attention. They never paid attention to him even with his amazing talents.

This eventually made him obsessed with getting the attention of his parents that he became a twisted individual.

Kurama had enough. He made a plan. A plan that would get his parents attention.

I scroll down. The next thing that I saw was surprising. It was a video. I click the video and it starts with a date.

November 1st, 2014, 2:36 am.

Hikari is found in critical condition in his bed while his brother was next to him laughing maniacally.

The video shows footage.

The parents rushed over to Hikari and glare at Kurama. "How could you!" Kurama laughs. "Maybe you should think before you say something. You never gave me the attention that a normal child would get. What did you expect?"

The parents stand there, frozen with terror. "M-m-monster!" One of them says. The other one gets themselves together pretty quickly. "Guards! Restrain that child!" The guards come rushing in and restrain Kurama. The video ends.

I continue doing my research. After that, Kurama was sent to the White Room to be used as an experiment for the new invention- shadow manipulation. He was the sole survivor of the 30 people that it was tested on.

So that's why I found him in the White Room while I was escaping! I put the pieces together.

I do some research on his parents and Hikari. Hikari had survived the attack but the only thing that had changed was that his condition had worsened slightly.

I looked at the Shiraishi family. The incident that had happened leaked out to other influential families and they became bankrupt due to blackmailing. Both parents had committed suicide.

Kage ripples out of my shadow and sees what I sees what I was doing. "Oh, so you figured it out." Kage says sadly. I nod. "Well, not everything. Can you tell me your side of the story?"
