Day four of the OAA Ranking Exam

The students were still murmuring about my advantage with Reiji, and not all of it was flattering.

Among the voices, Nanami Mabu, a student from Class 2-C, was particularly vocal. She approached me with a sneer on her face.

"You think you're so clever, Ayanokoji, using that wildcard of yours for your own purposes. That's just cheating."

I didn't deign to respond, my eyes fixed straight ahead as if she hadn't heard. However, as I pressed forward, it became evident that Nanami was determined to persist until she elicited a response from me.

"You know," Nanami continued, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "those psychic powers of yours are nothing more than party tricks. It's a shame you have to rely on them."

Without a word, I stopped in my tracks. Slowly, I turned around, my gaze through my glasses piercing and cold. I looked Nanami up and down.

"What was that you were saying?" My voice was as cold as ice, mirroring the disdainful tone that Nanami had used on me.

Nanami faltered, suddenly realizing she might have gone too far. But pride kept her from backing down.

"I said, you're cheating with that wildcard, and your powers are just party tricks."

In an instant, I extended my hand towards Nanami.

Without any visible force, Nanami was sent flying backward, her body crashing into a nearby tree with a resounding thud.

As Nanami groaned in pain, I approached her, the same chilling tone in her voice. "What was that about cheating and party tricks, Mabu?"

Nanami could only manage a weak, pained response. "I... I take it back."

I left her there, turning away once more. The other students who had witnessed the exchange stood in shocked silence.

Reiji's POV

As I was strolling in solitude, my gaze fixed on the distant horizon, an unmistakable presence began to draw near from behind.

Before I could react, Hana Ito lunged at me, her psychic powers already activated.

"Stop right there, you wildcard!" Hana's voice was a mix of anger and desperation as she attempted to restrain me with her psychic abilities.

I turned to face Hana, a devious grin playing on my lips. The psychic energy emanating from Hana's hands crackled in the air, trying to hold me in place.

Hana's sea green eyes bore into mine with a fierce determination. "Tell me what's going on, Reiji. What is Ryo trying to achieve in this exam? Why is she doing all of this?"

My smile grew even wider. "Ryo is playing a game, Hana."

Hana gritted her teeth. "That doesn't explain anything! What's her end goal? Why is she trying to control everything?"

I chuckled softly. "Ryo's end goal? Well, that's something only she knows. But I can tell you this, Hana. She's not interested in controlling everything. She thrives in the unpredictability of it all."

Hana's powers began to falter, and I stepped forward, my face mere inches from Hana's. "Hana, you know, there are moments when winning doesn't come from having complete control, but from surrendering to the chaos and allowing it to engulf you.

I pushed past Hana, leaving her standing there, baffled and frustrated.

As I continued my stroll through the campus, I noticed Ryuen approaching me.
