Ibuki approached me as I sat on the bench, reading a book.
"Hey, Ryo," Ibuki said. "Can you help me with something?"
I looked up at Ibuki and sighed. "What is it, Ibuki?" I asked.
"I want to learn how to cook," Ibuki said. "I want to beat Horikita in cooking."
I shrugged. "I don't know," she said. "Cooking is a lot of hassle."
Ibuki's eyes widened in surprise. "You're kidding, right?" she said. "You love to eat."
"I know," I said. "But I don't like to cook."
Ibuki sighed. "Please, Ryo," she said. "I need your help."
I shook my head. "No," I said. "I don't have time to teach you how to cook."
Ibuki's eyes filled with tears. "But, Ryo," she said. "I'm begging you."
Ibuki was a proud and independent girl. She never begged anyone for help.
I sighed. "Fine," I said. "I'll teach you how to cook."
Ibuki's face lit up with joy. "Thank you, Ryo!" she said. "I knew I could count on you."
"Just don't expect me to be a good teacher," I grumbled. "I only know how to cook a few simple dishes."
"That's okay," Ibuki said. "Any help is appreciated."
I took Ibuki to the kitchen and showed her all the ingredients they would need to make curry rice.
"That's a lot of ingredients." Ibuki appears utterly astonished. Has she ever cooked before?
"It may be a lot, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it makes it difficult.
I heated some oil in a pan and added the curry powder and other spices. Kage discreetly handed over all the ingredients to me.
I cooked the spices for a few minutes until they were fragrant, and then I added some flour to thicken the roux.
Once the roux was thickened, I added some water and milk to the pan. I brought the mixture to a boil and then simmered it for a few minutes until the curry was thick and creamy.
Next, I added some chicken and potatoes to the pan. I cooked the chicken and potatoes until they were cooked through.
Once the chicken and potatoes were cooked, I added some carrots and onions to the pan. I cooked the vegetables until they were tender.
I stirred the curry and then served it over rice.
Wow, that looks stunning!" Ibuki said.
I shrug. "It's not that hard to make," I said. "You just need to follow the steps."
Ibuki nodded. "I'm going to try my best," she said.
Ibuki followed my instructions carefully, but she smelled like she was a bit nervous.
After a while, the curry was ready. Ibuki served it over rice and took a bite.
"Wow!" she said. "Wow, this tastes amazing!" Her face was shining. I only taught her how to make curry, and she's like this. She has never cooked before.
"Maybe you can beat Horikita now." Ibuki nodded and devoured the curry rice and dashed off.
~Time skip~
It was 23:30, and I was reading on my bed. Kage and Reiji watched me like I was some sort of animal being displayed at the zoo.
"Hey, Ryo," Reiji said. "What are you doing?"
