The classroom was abuzz with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation as Chabashira-sensei walked to the front of the room. Her stern expression gave no hint of the bombshell she was about to drop. Only I knew what she was going to do.

"Listen up, everyone," she began, her voice commanding instant attention. "I have an important announcement to make."

Whispers and murmurs rippled through the classroom as students exchanged glances, intrigued by the unexpected news.

Chabashira-sensei's eyes briefly swept across the room, and for a moment, her gaze lingered on me.

"You have a Special Exam. It's name is the OAA Ranking Exam."

The tension in the room grew palpable as students leaned forward in their seats, hanging on her every word.

"Each person will be ranked based on their abilities- Academic performance, athletic prowess, social skills, leadership skills, creativity, problem-solving skills, fighting skills." Hirata raises his hand. "How will the rankings be displayed?"

"They'll be shown on the OAA app as 'points,'" She explained. "Gaining these 'points' requires challenging someone else on the OAA app. If they choose to accept, you can engage in any form of a fight with them."

All the students open up the OAA app on their phones to see.

"If you win the fight, the challenged person will have to give you the number of points they are ranked. But if the person you challenge wins, you will have to work under them and continue to gain points."

"Students challenging each other to tests of knowledge, physical competitions, creative battles, anything goes. Public or private challenges, one-time challenges, or multiple rounds of competition."

"And the punishments for losing can range from forced servitude to the victor, a drain on their resources, revealing secrets that were meant to stay hidden, or even elimination from the Special Exam altogether."

"There will also be a resources and information market. Students purchasing materials, equipment, and the most up-to-date information about their competitors."

"Alliances will be a valuable asset. Sharing resources and information, preparing for challenges together, supporting each other through the chaos. But alliances can crumble just as easily as they form."

"Students turning on their allies for personal gain. A wildcard character, someone unpredictable, someone who could change the entire game with a single move." Chabashira-sensei falters when she says that.

"As for the other side rules," Chabashira-sensei concluded, "they will be made clear soon enough. For now, prepare yourselves,"

As she left the room, leaving a whole stack of packets explaining the other rules that I had requested.

I leaned back in my seat, satisfied as I watched the reactions of my fellow classmates. I hope they don't fail me and show me something fun.

~Time skip~

I sat in my room, the soft glow of my phone illuminating my face as I monitored the OAA app, which had now been updated to include the Special Exam rankings.

Just as I was about to delve into the rankings, there was a knock on my door.

I didn't need my clairvoyant abilities to know who it was.

Karuizawa had been growing increasingly paranoid, and it seemed she couldn't resist the urge to confront me.

I sighed and rose from my chair, opening the door to find Karuizawa standing there, her expression a mixture of anxiety and frustration.
