The Other Ayanokoji

Chapter 4

Ryo's POV

After yesterday I was tired. You see after teleporting from my dorm to the boulevard, it takes a mental toll on me. I become extremely immature and my brother had to deal with me for the entire night. I regained my senses in the morning but I was extremely tired that I fell out of bed. After having some green tea, I recovered most of my energy but was still tired. 

In front of the elevator, both of me and my brother were yawning, waiting for the door to open. After a while, it opens and we see Kushida and Horikita inside. Kushida cheerfully greets us. "Good morning, Ayanokoji twins!" Horikita looks at us coldly. "Getting in or not?" "We are. We will be getting in if you don't mind." We both get onto the elevator. My brother glances at Kushida I see the image of me taunting Kushida a little.

[Flashback Begin]

Do you understand, Kikyo Kushida? If I hear anyone talking about this, I will make sure that everyone sees this video." I play the video and show Kushida mockingly. 

[Flashback End]

I whisper into my brother's head, Sorry I had to show you that yesterday. He shakes his head. I feel like it's my fault. I pat him reassuringly. As if to change the topic he whispers to Horikita, "I'm surprised to see you and Kushida together." "She was waiting for me outside my door," Horikita whispers back. The elevator dings and all of us disembark from it.

Kushida makes a fake disappointed face. "Aww! I was hoping we could walk to school together." "Morning, Kushida-san!" Ichinose was waving toward waving to Kushida. "Huh? Ah! Ichinose-san." Ichinose notices my brother. "Kushida-san, is this your boyfriend?" Kushida giggles. "Of course not!" I glance at my brother and shake my head slightly. He shakes his head as well.

"Really, I was sure ..." Ichinose. Don't. Finish. The. Sentence. Kushida laughs even more. "Nope! Nope!" That is probably is how she feels. "That reminds me ... did you guys get your points today?" Kushida looks confused. "Huh?"

~At the classroom~

"There's been a bit of an issue. The provision of points to freshmen has been delayed." Chabashira-sensei announces.

"Are you kidding?"  "Do we get some kind of compensation for the school screwing up?" Chabashira-sensei inhales sharply. "There's nothing that I can do. The moment the problem is resolved, the points will be distributed. Assuming you still have points by then."

~Time skip~

Kiyotaka's POV

I was walking towards Ichinose, along with my sister. "Sorry to call you out like this." "What's going on?" Ryo asks. "I'm just going to say it and get it over with." Flustered, Ichinose blushes and looks away from me. She's probably wondering how to phrase properly what she wants to say. "I think I ... am going to get asked out! Right here!"

I'm confused. "Huh? Wait, um ... Won't it be better if I'm not here, then?" "But I don't know anything about dating. I found this in my locker yesterday." Ichinose shows an envelope with a love letter inside sealed with a heart sticker. 

"I don't feel the same way. And I don't know how to turn the person down without hurting them and ..." I hear my sister sigh. "You'd be better off talking it out with them, one on one." "But ..." Ichinose notices someone appearing from behind them.

"Eh? Ichinose-san ... who is this?" Chihiro Shiranami. I hear my sister whisper in my head. Gahh. Why does she always have to do that? I'm never going to get used to it. I thank her quietly

"U-Um, sorry, Chihiro-chan ... I brought someone you don't know. This is Ayanokōji-kun from Class D." Shiranami's eyes are welling up with tears. "Is he ... your boyfriend?" " Ayanokōji-kun is ... He's my --" "They're just friends." My sister finishes the sentence. The other girls gasped at this as I look at Ichinose. "Ichinose, confessing your feelings to someone isn't an easy thing. You spend every day in anguish, yet you still can't do it. The words "I love you" hang in your throat, and you can't seem to force them out. I think her earnest feelings deserve a proper answer, don't you?" I say. Ichinose nods slightly. "Of course, it might not be our place to talk." Ryo and I walk away from the scene.
