It was nighttime, but it looked like it was broad daylight at the Angello mansion due to the crazy hustle and bustle of important people and excessive lighting.

People had gathered to celebrate Dominic Angello's return to the country.

"Cheers!" The glasses clinked.

Dominic was talking to his friends, with his son standing beside him when a friend of his asked,

" Oh! Dom, where are your granddaughters? It's been so long since I last met those girls."

"Bianca was just right here," Federico said looking around.

"Oh! There she is! BIANCA!" He called her out and signaled her to come there.

"Hello uncle, How have you been? It's been so long." She greeted them sweetly.

"It has been long like you said. Where is Alexandra? I don't see her?"

"Alexandra? She might be getting ready she would be here in a minute." Federico said.

"Oh! She's there!" someone pointed out.

Alexandra Angello was walking down the stairs in a bright red dress.

Her hair was let down and her makeup was done lightly. She still managed to look like the most attractive woman in the room.

All the heads turned including that of the rest of Angello's.

Every eye was on her and the room fell silent. Light whispers were the only things that could be heard.

As she came down, people bowed to her in respect.

Many people backed off as she made her way toward her grandfather, trying not to block her path.

"Why does everyone bow to her?" Bianca whispered to her father.

"They are scared." her father replied.

" Scared of what? Her?" she questioned a bit unsure.

" You don't know your sister very well, honey. You don't have any idea what she has done and what she is capable of doing. You have no idea what your grandfather has turned her into."

Bianca was very confused because her father's words did not make much sense, but she paid no heed to it as she saw her father mingling with his friends.

Alexa took slow, elegant steps toward Dominic and his friends. Everyone stepped aside, giving her way.

"Hello uncle, it has been long. Hasn't it?" She said while extending a hand to greet Dominic's friend from earlier.

"Oh! It sure has been Ms. Angello."He replied.

"You must be pretty excited now that your grandpa is back." He continued.

"I don't seem to feel the excitement." she replied bluntly, "We are not on the best terms."

Her reply made the atmosphere very awkward.

"Ha..ha.. my niece likes to joke around a lot, Ha.. ha" Federico pitched in, "Don't you Alexa." Alexandra just gave a small smile in response.

"Whatever you say uncle," She was toying with them, she knew they were scared that their secret got out,

"Now if you please excuse me." She said walking away.

A few minutes later, as Alexa was talking to some international clients she felt a sudden jerk on her arm and saw her grandpa dragging her to a corner.

"What do you think you are doing?" She questioned him, just as calm as ever.

"Why did you talk like that ?" her grandfather questioned Alexandra in a barely audible voice.

"Like what ?"Alexa questioned with her eyebrow raised.

"YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT," Dominic growled, trying to keep his voice as low as possible.

"No I don't," she said calmly, not a tint of emotion visible on her face.

"What you said to my friends," he said lowering his voice.

"Oh.. that, "She said, as if she just remembered about it," yeah? so what about it? Want to create a scene here?"

"Why would you say that?"

"Why are talking as if what I said was untrue? Are we on the best terms, GRANDPA? " She replied while emphasizing the grandpa.

"But you don't go ranting about it in front of guests," he said while trying to keep his calm.

"Why does it bother you so much Grandpa?" she said while slightly tilting her head and raising her eyebrow, the same way he mocked her a few days ago.

"Is it guilt, no way, maybe embarrassment or fear?" she said while leaning close, almost in a whisper so that no one else in the room could hear her. "Dominic Angello, just wait, I will make sure to return every single scar you gave to me in my lifetime."

he believed she was threatening him.

"ARE YOU THREATENING ME GIRL?!!" he said while shouting at her.

" Do you feel threatened grandfather?" she questioned, "even if you are let me tell you something. This is not a threat, it's just a warning, you will know when I threaten you."

"YOU HAVE NO MANNERS WHATSOEVER!" he shouted.

"THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT COULD TEACH ME MANNERS WERE KILLED!!" the whole room fell silent, only Alexa's heavy breaths could be heard.

Everyone looked towards them, people started whispering. Dominic Angello was fighting with his older granddaughter.

Alexa couldn't care less about people whispering. But she could feel her hands and legs trembling at the thought of her parents.

She knew she needed to get out of there or else she might collapse in front of so many people.

But she could not move. It seemed as if someone had tied her to the spot.

That is when she felt a warm hand wearing cold metal rings, wrap around her waist from behind.

Alexa had no courage to look to the side. But she felt safe once she heard the voice of the man beside her.

"Good evening Mr.Angello, if you don't mind may I borrow your granddaughter for a few moments." She heard Christian talking to her grandfather and without waiting for a reply he led her out of the hall.

His hand still tightly held onto her waist for support.
