"You're back." The voice is attentive, acknowledging, but still with its intimidating flair. "And we just opened. I'm impressed."

The librarian is back in his usual attire, buttoned-polos and dressy khakis, but at least this time around, there's a hint of color in his outfit (contrasting the mellow earth tones from before).

"I am," Jisung says, library books each in their own respective hands. "I—I said I'd return the books today."

"Ah, yes, you did say that," the librarian pushes his glasses up his nose bridge.

He finally meets Jisung's gaze with his...very pale-looking face and very dull-looking eyes before giving him a very dead-looking smile. "I was wondering why our fantasy section was looking so empty."

(Jisung's unsure if that's a jab at the contents of either novel or an honest mistake, but he assumes it's the former. The librarian is too meticulous and calculated to make 'honest mistakes'.)

"They're research novels," Jisung corrects, feeling his body slowly disintegrate when the librarian raises a sharp brow.

"And... did you learn anything?" the librarian asks, voice slow to pronounce each syllable. His voice, rather than run smooth and velvety, comes off brash and pained. "Do you think you—achoo!—broke that curse?"

"That's the thing," Jisung sighs, slumping into a cushioned rocking chair that sits parallel to the librarian's seat at the front desk. "I'm not sure? I bought Dr. Kwon Lee's recipe formula as a supplement for her novel, but I don't know if it actually did anything."

"Ah." The librarian hums, his puffy, red-rimmed eyes blown slightly wider in genuine surprise. "Then it probably didn't. Magic is not—cough!—something that—cough!—something that works in silence. It's verbose—achoo!—it's grand. You would know."

"Then what do I do? I think I may have poisoned a mer, and I may not have even broken the curse!" Jisung whines, defeated. This know-it-all librarian has done nothing but steer him in certain directions, and then criticize him for going in said directions. The least he could do is help Jisung out.
