It's a Thursday afternoon when Jisung invites Minho and Chan to The Elixir under the pretense that "it's important" and that "it's time they meet one another".

The air is filled with the sweet scent of pineapple, coconut, and other exotic fruits, all contributors to its tangy and treacly drinks. In the center of the room, a large wooden counter is lined with an array of colorful juices, smoothies, and other refreshments.

The three of them are sitting in a booth at the far end of the bar, their conversation punctuated by the sound of blenders whirring in the background.

Chan and Minho have been eagerly chatting about 'mer lore' for the past ten minutes, and Jisung suddenly regrets inviting them to the juice bar.

Minho looks unreal as ever, and when Jisung turns to him, he's staring straight at his perfectly crafted side profile.

Sharp jawline, high cheekbones, and a face accented with a prominent nose bridge which props up his clear frames. As he listens to Chan's enthusiastic rambling, his pink lips are slightly jutted out into a small pout.

(And yet again, Jisung's reminded of the burnet's abnormally familiar model-esque visuals.)

"Forgive me, Minho-ssi," Chan starts, nervously swirling his straw in his 'diabetes in a glass' (called Divine Nectar). He continues after taking a slow sip, "but it's hard to believe that mer-curses don't exist. How would you explain the recent spike in mer sightings and violence in Arcana?"

Minho sits upright, grasping the underside of his empty cup. He pauses for a moment, as if to collect his thoughts, before beginning.

"Anyone can claim they've seen a merperson or that they were attacked by one," Minho explains, voice soft but his articulation persuasive (as per usual). "With Arcana's extreme mer hysteria, I wouldn't doubt that most of the stories are either exaggerated or mistaken as mer sightings. We never see proof of these things, so I wouldn't consider it a recent 'spike' in anything."

Chan hums, brows knit in confusion but still attempting to understand. "So, why do you think the mer... why do you think a merperson came up to Jisung at random?"
