Pretty much none of my friends were in the same bus as me. It was unfortunate. Storm was there, but that was it. I sat next to some random Earth, and Storm sat next to one of his endless friends he probably barely even knew. We were on the same row and both had the seats by the hallway, allowing conversation.
"So... are you excited for camp?" He asked a few minutes after the bus had started going.
"Yep, you?" I asked.
"Uh-huh." He responded before adding, "I already knew about camp."
"Lucky duck." I said, not asking why. I knew why. It was because of Gust. Asking would definitely bring up memories.
"Yeah," he smirked, "and guess what?"
"What?"
"Oh wait, I can't tell you. It's a surprise for all the campers." He grinned. I wasn't really that interested in what he was about to say, but went along with it for fun.
"Nooooo! Tell me! Tell me, tell me, tell me!" I said, shaking his shoulders back and forth. He laughed. It wasn't until after a while of shaking that I realized a lot of people where staring. I cringed in embarrassment, while Storm took advantage of the moment.
"C'mon, don't any you ever have fun?" He said, a smile lighting up his face, "Be honest. Actually no, don't be honest, we all know you would say that you never had fun if you were. At least, not real fun." Everyone in the bus laughed.
Later on, Storm began talking to his friend and I began talking to the Earth next to me. It turns out, she was Brooke's younger sister named Roxanne who started school earlier than most people so she could be in Brooke's grade. While we talked, I learned that it's possible for one elemental to have another type of elemental for a sibling if your parents are different elements. You might not have all the facial traits of your element, like perhaps you are an Earth with blue eyes. Maybe that's how Storm has blue eyes, one of his parents was a Water and the other a Wind. I'd ask him later, if that wasn't too weird.
Nightfall came, and the sky turned indigo. We had to sleep on the bus ride. Roxanne offered to switch places, which I agreed to happily as the window seat gave me something to lean against. It took a long while, but soon I had fallen asleep.
