Saturday morning there was, once again, an announcement on the intercom. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday everyone was to wait for their rides. That is, the people who's parent/guardian's didn't sign up their children for the camp. Apparently it was announced, way before we were told, in an email that they were to have a three week camp in a forest not found on a map. The people who had been here for more than a year must've knew it already because the camp has existed just as long as the school, another thing in the announcement. I was surprised that we were told we were going; I didn't expect our foster parents to sign us up. Maybe they didn't even sign us up, we might have been given new, possibly Elemental foster parents. Anyways, everyone going to camp was getting in one of the buses and driving pretty much all night. We were told, for some weird reason, to pack one semi-formal outfit.
"I'm bored." Misty whined from her top bunk.
"Same." I said.
"We could ask Caspian, Brooke, Breeze, and Steam if they're- oh yeah Storm too. If they're going to camp?" She suggested.
"We have to pack though." I stated.
"But I want to find out if they're going!"
"Okay then go find out; I need to pack." Misty simply rolled her eyes at my remark.
"Come on! We can pack afterwards!" She complained.
"Or you can go pack afterwards and I could pack now, buy a semi-formal dress, and then go ask them if there's time left over."
"Ugh." Misty walked into the hall and slammed the door. Gosh.
After I was done packing, I walked to the market. I had yet to see Misty, and there was only thirty minutes until the buses would be leaving. I didn't know if thirty minutes would be long enough to find a dress, so it was definitely not long enough for Misty to pack. If she had already bought her dress on the way to ask our friends if they were going, she might be in luck. If, however, she had not, I think she was in a big mess. I scanned the aisles of dresses for quite some time, probably about twenty minutes, before finding a gorgeous light blue dress. (A/N: See picture above.) I absolutely loved it! I rushed to the checkout line, knowing that the buses would be leaving soon.
"For camp, eh?" The lady asked. I nodded eagerly, hoping she would just hurry up.
"I figured." She pointed to the cost and I handed her the money.
"Thanks bye!" I said in appreciation before running out the door. When I was running to the room to get my bag the intercom went off.
"The buses are leaving in five minutes. Thank you." When I got to the room Misty was packing hurriedly.
"I didn't realize it would take this long to ask everyone!" She muttered to herself.
"Hey, did you get your dress yet?" I asked.
"Yep!" She answered, "Can you help me pack? Sorry, I didn't realize it would take so long to find out stuff. Everyone is going."
"Yeah, it's fine. You asked Storm right?"
"Yes. He was wondering where you were and I told him about our argument."
"Oh okay. You told it in your defense, huh?"
"Yeah...sorry."
"It's fine, he won't think I'm a jerk or anything."
"Okay."
We finished packing Misty's bag then ran downstairs. The buses were lined up and a lady was assigning buses from a list. After we waited in line for a little bit, we reached the lady.
"Skylar Blue." I said. After a brief searching of the list, the lady responded.
"You are bus five." I nodded and began carrying my suitcase to bus five. Misty walked up.
"Misty Blue." She said. We already knew we'd be in the same bus.
"Bus nine." The lady responded.
"Wait, what?" Misty and I asked in unison.
"The bus does not follow alphabetical order; it's all random." The lady said before turning to the next person. Oh no! The worst part: I saw Dirt walking to bus nine as well. Poor Misty.
