"Basically, every psychopath was a normal person until they stop feeling"
She opened the door hesitantly and the person standing in front of her smiled at her
"What are you doing here Prachi?'
Vera asked her not quite sure if that would be appropriate to start a conversation or not
" actually Rudra was worried about you and I was also scared and I was alone and you know everyone is busy and I was not sure where can I go so I thought maybe if we hang out for a while it will ease the mood until we can get our hand on Mansi"
She smiled slightly showing the perfect line of her white teeth, even after being tired from a series of events she could still manage to look beautiful, she always does
'Ok come inside"
she replied after a pause as if she was processing her reply, she doesn't mind her company though She steps aside and lets Prachi enter in and then closes the door eyeing the whole place to make sure if someone followed her
She pointed at the couch and tell her to sit there and went inside the kitchen herself to grab a drink for her, she asked as soon as she on the gas stove
Tea or coffee
"Black coffee" she replied from outside
Vera return with two coffee mugs and forward one in front of prachi for a few moments there was an awkward silence between them, then vera break the ice
"I am sorry Prachi"
She said in a low tone but still fixing her eyes on the cup, she was running her fingers on the cup, it was wandering from its handle to the circular edges of the cup Prachi looked at her but didn't reply anything, and averted her eyes from vera to her cup
"I should have told you this earlier, I don't know why I took this much time to apologize to you may be I was mustering up a courage, Rudra tells me everything that it was not your fault"
she continued slowly and after a sigh finally looks at Prachi,
"No vera it's ok you don't really have to, anyone at your place would have done the same you just react according to the situation "
Prachi replied calmly with a smile to not make the conversation serious
"Still I should have at least listen to your expectation, Rudra tell me everything, that you were also forced in all that, and how his grandfather makes you do everything, I should have listened to you but you know that time you were my only best friend and more than Rudra I was angry on you because I was never expecting something like that from you and I was just out of mind
"it's ok vera, it's totally ok, you don't have to apologize, again and again, so Rudra tells you everything?"
she asked calmly
vera nod
"he does"
"and how is your father now, did you forgive him too"
she asked again continuing the conversation
"i just wished he is not giving you any more hard times"
"he isn't and now I forgive everyone my hearts feel a lot at ease, more than anyone I think it's me who hurt myself, I was hurt by my childhood traumas and inferiorities more than I was hurt by anyone, I should have made it clear from the first day in school that I don't believe from any rich section of society than such drama wouldn't have created"
the problem was me I could have handled the situation more wisely I became a little selfish at that time and refused to accept my flaws at all if I would have listen to you people maybe we could have a more good memories
she said while curving a little smile on her face while fixing her stare on the floor as if she was imagined a day they could live if all that drama didn't happen
"Can you pass me my coffee"
Prachi said pointing her eyebrows in the direction of her cup that was a little far from her position and near to the side of the table where vera was sitting, vera nodded slightly with a smile and pick her cup to gave her she picked it with a little force and when she was about to give it to Prachi, Prachi stretch her hand forward to take it from her hand but vera accidentally bump it with a Prachi's hand a coffee spill on her hand a little
and she shakes her hand instantly, to shake hot coffee that spills on her hand
"oh my goodness, I am really sorry Prachi, I didn't mean to "
vera said with a guilty expression, she get up from her seat and ran inside and after a second she bring a towel handkerchief and start wiping her hand
"its ok , i can do it myself"
Prachi replied
"no, I am really sorry let me wipe it for you,"
vera replied still wiping her hand with a worry
"let me see, in case its burned"
vera said scanning her hand
"no it didn't burn , i am ok"
she tried to take her hand back from vera's hand
but vera was still checking her hand to makee sure it wasn't burned, when her eyes stop at one-stop her pinky nail, it was not a full nail, it was a half-grown nail as if the old nail was separated from a nail bed and new was growing in its place, and the reason she didn't noticed it earlier was probably because Prachi had glued a fake nail of it which was now removed while she was wiping her hand and was lying on the floor
vera's heartbeat stopped everything seems to turn into nothing but silence, now she can clearly hear the tik tok sound of her wall clock, her AC's blower voice , she feel her throat in her mouth and chills on her spine and goose bumps all over her arms her eyes were now fixed on Prachi's eyes who were also looking at her with the same intensity , but their was something new she never saw in her eyes, a psychic expression and prachi smiled slightly an evil smile
she takes her hand back and cros her legs while making herself comfortable on the couch she starts drinking rest of her coffee, but vera was still siting in the same position
"you were right vera if you would have handled the situation more calmly and had forgiven me and Rudra right that moment we could have more good memories, 'me and Rudra" and i would have killed you that time only, cause you know i hate good people who forgive person like me who did them wrong"
