Part 23 Dragons Departure

No One P.O.V

"So Wendy I see you've found yourself a boyfriend" Grandeena said with a teasing smirk.

Wendy and Romeo both blushed profusely and started waving there hands.

"Wha- No he's not- I mean where not- ITS NOT LIKE THAT MOM!" Wendy blurted out.

"I don't understand, why are you here Zirconis?" Romeo asked.

"Your mother deleted your memories of me, but the truth is you too are a dragon slayer Romeo, every time you used you're green flames thats always been dragon slayer magic... haha funny enough I started teaching you it AFTER you kicked my ass back in time, isn't fate so ironic?" Zirconis explained.

"I thought you weren't fond of humans" Simon said.

"Yeah well... your mother made me see the Beauty of it all..." Zirconis said.

"So I was a dragon slayer this whole time?" Romeo said shockingly looking at his hands.

"Welcome to the club kid" Rogue said smiling at the small teen.

Romeos uttershock turned into a grin... then a big ol smile.

He's wanted to be like Natsu his whole life and now he too was a freaking dragon slayer!? This whole time.

"Still though I never expected your mom to be so messed up in the head, it hurts me to see her like that" Zirconis said.

"Wait a minute how do you know my mom? Your 400 years old and my moms not that old!" Romeo stated.

"I'm afraid I don't have the answer to that right now, she must have deleted some of my memory too" Zirconis explained.

"This is just too unreal" Romeo said holding his head.

The Dragons explained how they weren't actually fully alive because Agnologia ripped out there souls long ago, and that they remained in our bodys as a way to prevent us from becoming dragons and because it was the only way for them to survive. Now that they've exited our bodys they can no longer remain in this world.

"Please don't leave me!" Wendy screamed as Grandenaa left.

"I love you Wendy now and always" Grandeena told her.

"I leave the title of jade dragon to you now kid" Zirconis said as he too disappeared.

"Heh... I'll think about it" I said, I don't remember him much so, it didn't hurt  much when he left, the same could not be said for Wendy however who was bawling her eyes out. It wasn't just her, Lucy lost Aquarias, Natsu Lost Igneel, Gray Lost his father it seemed like everyone was starting to feel the loss of a parent... including me as my mother was practically an enemy now.

"Romeo..." Wendy said stumbling towards.

"Do you think... do you think I did enough?" I nodded to answer her question.

"Are you sure because right now I feel like a failure..." She said falling into my arms and trembling.

I looked into her eyes and softly told her "In the end you're mother was smiling... they were all smiling" 

"They were..." She said with tears in her eyes. 

"Don't worry we're all in this together" I said holding her head and resting it on my chest as I let her cry on it. Everyone stood in silence mourning the latest events.

I'm still shaken up by all these events, Tartorose... its poetically dark to say that these demons put us through hell. Some literally more then others like with Erza... we stood strong but at what cost?
