The landing and good bye had gone over without any further interactions between Verstappen and myself, but I really got sick and therefore had missed the race in Italy. But now it was time for Monaco and I got fit just in time for that. It sure would be a highlight of the season. So many people told me about it and now I was here in the paddock.
Despite the early hour not many people were here and I enjoyed it. Because of the good spread of the news about Verstappens and mine relationship it was no longer necessary to show up hand in hand every day. Instead, this time Christian had come up with something else, a dinner after the qualifying.
As if I didn't already spend enough time with Verstappen during the day, I also had to go out to dinner with him. The team principal said it would be a perfect opportunity to show the people that we also would do normal date stuff beside our race life and RedBull. We should make some pictures and maybe even a video of showing our happy relationship. How much I hated this idea.
But as the media nearly had forgotten about the violent relationship I hoped that our fake dating was near at the end. maybe the summer break would be the perfect opportunity for a "break up". I was begging for it as the fight with Verstappen was taking out all my strength lately.
"Ready for qualifying?"
I spun around just to see Charles on his bike a couple of meters in front of me. Despite the good weather I was standing in front of the garage and taking a little break from work as the Monegasque stopped and got off.
"Hi Charles, yes we are ready to beat you." I said and we had to laugh.
"Your boyfriend will be behind me, today and tomorrow I guarantee you that."
He winked at me and I just rolled my eyes.
"Here he is just a driver, noting more and nothing less." I replied to his "boyfriend".
"So you are single." he said and looked at me with a beautiful smile.
His charm really got me every time and I was feeling something inside me, not sure what it was.
"Maybe." I whispered and winked at him.
"So have I than the blessing to invite you to a coffee later?"
He was really good I thought and just smiled as an answer before turning around to go back into the garage.
"Text me the time and place." I said so he still could hear it and a successful sound came from the Monegasque as an answer.
Laughing and with my mind still at the conversation I didn't see Verstappen, who was standing next to his engineer in the back of the garage.
"Who was it?" he curiously asked.
"A friendly guy, who invited me for a coffee." I answered before disappearing behind a corner.
Even with the short look at him I had noticed how annoyed he was that the other drivers liked me despite he didn't. Everybody liked his girlfriend and he hated her what a thing I thought and had to grin.
After two hours Charles really texted me.
In ten minutes at Ferrari?
I smiled at his text and was happy that some people really seemed to like me even I wasn't wearing fancy stuff and was looking like a model.
I am coming.
He typed for a moment and I was curious what he would reply to that but than he went offline again without sending another message. I quickly grabbed my black sweater from my backpack, which I usually just wear in here while working because it was so comfortable. But as I was heading out to Ferrari I didn't want to wear all RedBull.
