Zoe
I hadn't slept a single minute this night. Everything that had happened yesterday kept me awake, he kept me awake. My thoughts had always circled around the same things: Max, my feelings for him, his father, Max, the break up, the nights and how he kept drinking and Max again.
However today was Sunday and there fore a normal work day for me. Deep down I just hoped that he would stay at his room. Of course I hoped that he was okay and was feeling better than yesterday but I hoped for him, the whole team and for his life that he would stay away from the track.
These thoughts died as soon as I saw Jos and Max walking through the gates into the paddock. The younger Dutch had dark sunglasses and I could only imagine how dark his eye bags were. Landos jaw next to me dropped and I sighed at I knew that he also didn't expect to see Max here today.
"What the hell is he doing?" the Brit asked next to me but I couldn't answer as I only watched the two Dutch men as they entered the RedBull garage.
"Please go and keep him away from that car."
My head turned around and I looked at Lando.
"There is nothing I can do, his father is here. Also remember what he say and did yesterday, I already told you."
"You said he was drunk and then told you that he loves you."
"He wanted to say that but his body gave out before he could." I said and my voice got more quiet with every word.
"But isn't that what you wanted?"
I sighed deeply before I cleared my throat and quickly looked over to the RedBull garage.
"It's over Lando, we broke up and he decided to get drunk and celebrate over that fact. I am only here because RedBull pays my rent."
The McLaren driver next to me laughed and than sarcastically made a sad face.
"I thought you were also here to support me but I get it. It's always about the money, isn't it?"
I laughed and boxed against his arm.
"Hey I support you always, you know that. And yes money is important, unless you have millions of it like you for example."
"I didn't mean that sorry. What about we go out tonight, to make you forget everything and have a bit of fun?"
The though actually seemed promising and I gave Lando a big smile as I nodded my head.
"Then I will tell Carlos that we have to postpone our dinner." the British racing driver said and quickly looked over to Ferrari.
"No, don't do that. If he has no problem with it we can go out together, the three of us."
His eyes lighted up and he nodded his head in excitement, before he looked again over to Ferrari.
"He sure will be fine with it, I mean we have to thank you and Charles for the blind date and all that stuff. Maybe we can ask if he wants to come too, if that's okay for you?"
"Yeah sure, why not."
"Perfect, I will asked Carlos during the drivers parade." Lando said as we quickly hugged for good bye.
"Don't be too close Lando the fans are already on your path, all I can say is #carlando." I added and winked at him, before turning around and immediately my smile faded away as the RedBull garage was in front of me.
Maybe going out with Lando and the Ferrari boys wasn't that bad, Charles was really nice and even though I knew he had had a crush on me it wasn't awkward. He was probably already over it and it was just a nice get together.
