RYAN GAZED ANGRILY AT CAITLIN. "YOU think I did this?" he asked, a bit insulted. "You think I fucking did this?"

"Then tell me what the HELL happened to Cole!!!" she demanded. "You were the one who tossed the ball at him as hard as you could!"

"How am I supposed to know?" Ryan asked, almost growling.

Caitlin grabbed at her hair, not taking her eyes off of where Cole mysteriously disappeared. "What the fuck just happened? What the FUCK just happened? What are we gonna tell your parents? What are your parents gonna do?" she ranted, her heart racing fast.

Ryan, still on his knees gripping onto Cole's clothes, wanted to answer her, or at least try to say something that would be remotely close to a comforting answer, but he was interrupted when the next worst case scenario happened.

A loud crashing sound came from the house, followed by a shake of the ground, and immediately when Ryan and Caitlin turned to look at the house a black Mercedes Benz came crashing through the wall, covered in dust and wood, driving straight for them.

It felt and looked unreal, like something from a movie, but when the roaring of the vehicle hit her ears louder than any sound she'd ever heard, Caitlin screamed and jumped out of the way.

Ryan rolled to safety and felt the rush of the Mercedes Benz as it drove over the grass, leaving behind a trail of steaming tyre tracks, and went into the pool, splashing water all around.

"Ryan, are you okay?" Caitlin asked as she ran to her cousin's aid.

"Yah." Ryan said without even realizing it. His eyes were on the car gurgling bubbles in their pool.

Breaking through the shattered back-window of the Mercedes Benz was a woman with long black hair and light-brown skin.

Ryan and Caitlin ignored the scrapes on their own bodies and rushed to help the woman out of the vehicle as it sank deeper into the water. They were careful to not hurt the woman and managed to get her out, all landing hard on the grass, panting heavily.

Ryan crawled backwards, his head throbbing with what had just happened. When he opened his eyes and examined his surrounding he saw, like him, the woman was holding a piece of clothing: a small fairy outfit fit for a child.

"What happened?" he asked the woman as she watched her car stopping halfway into the water, steam rushing from the windows. Her forehead was bleeding and her neck red and bruised. Probably from the seatbelt, Ryan thought.

"My daughter." the woman sobbed, her eyes falling down at the fairy outfit. "My daughter ..." she couldn't even finish as she sobbed louder, tears running down her cheeks. She didn't need to finish.

Sniffling, the woman brought her eyes to Ryan. "We were supposed to go to her show." she said, her tears dripping down her chin onto the fairy outfit. "We were late so I drove a bit too fast, but then she — uhm — I got surprised, didn't see the other car and—" Without warning, she dug her face into the fairy outfit and started crying all over again, adding a shrill scream.

Ryan wished he could help her, tell her it was going to be okay, but he didn't even know where Cole and her daughter went, and he didn't know if he would ever be okay.

More noise of crashing and screaming came from beyond the house. Caitlin pulled Ryan to his feet, dragging him through the hole in the house. They ducked down to avoid their heads bumping into the wall. Ryan looked at the living room and felt relief for once when he realized he wouldn't be the one paying for damages.

There wasn't much damage as he'd expected: broken wall, smashed television, cracked windows from the impact, tyre marks all over the carpet, and the scattered remains of the coffee table on the floor alongside dust and debris.
