You smile as you walk and hug your niece who smiles big when she sees Finn behind you who smiles big back at her making your heart fill with warmth as he picks her up laughing and holding her in his arms. You decided to take finn with you to your family cookout for The Fourth of July after he told you that he had always celebrated with his family in Ireland but couldn't go to spend it with them this year, he felt a lot of emotions when you asked him to go with you to the cookout, not only to still celebrate but to celebrate in both an american and new way which he would like as well, you smile as you hug your parents and talk with your nephew in the pool, grabbing a plate and putting a hamburger and chips on it as finn grabs one after you sit down, you talk with your sister and brother with finn next to you as you drink a homemade margarita, going in the pool after you eat. You feel a smile form as you relax at the cool temperature of the water as you laugh at your nephew as he shimmies in the water, looking up to see finn climbing in and yelling before moving as he jumps in, making the kids laugh and cheer as he pops back up, grabbing and pulling you to him while laughing, you all swim together until you notice finn no where in the pool, you get out and look around to hear laughing inside your parent's house, you walk in and see your mom with her arm wrapped around finn's shoulders while your dad laughed loudly "Damn I knew the Irish were a bit crazy but that's gotta take the cake!", you smile at the three as you take your niece upstairs and help her change, you go back down with her on your hip until she sees finn who smiles at the two of you and picks her up when she hops down to walk to him. You take a picture of the four and post all the pictures you took on Instagram with the caption "Hope you had a great american fourth of July baby, I love you ❤️" you continue spending time together with your family until you leave with some leftovers, seeing a big smile on his face "What's got you smiley?" he shakes his head as he wraps his arms around your waist and kisses your cheek, "I enjoyed today, but it felt like I was home again with how everyone was, and your parents told me that I didn't need to ask them to marry you, they already saw me as their son" you swell with warmth and unconditional love as you turn in his arms and share a kiss together before showering and watching tv together.
