One day till left we go to the oil rig and find Wolf to give him what he deserves. It feels like months we've been waiting, when it hasn't been at all
I check the time to see it's 5am
Not the usual time I'm up, but I step out of bed anyway and I start hearing noise from the living room. I walk in to see the lights off, it's still dark outside. In the kitchen is ghost. He's trying to make coffee with an obvious struggleI could've sworn I heard him say
"how the he'll do you work this damn thing"
Expected considering it's a new Keurig Price bought. I myself just figured out how to use it"You good?"
I say as a smile tugs at the corner of my lips"What are you doing?"
Ghost says as he turns his head to me"Couldn't sleep. Guess I just woke up earlier than I wanted to"
Ghost stays silent for a moment. He looks like he's trying to solve a math equation in his head
"Why not?"
How the fuck would I know? I ignore the question. I walk up to him and take the Keurig cup out of his hand, opening the latch and popping it in. I close it, pressing the top button and selecting the cup size. "There you go" I give him a light smile for his cluelessness
"Alright"
he says in a husky tone and I nod my head. I grab a cup out the cabinet and set it on the counter so I myself can get one after himGhost eyes drift to me as I'm resting my head on top of my elbows on the counter, zoning out as I wait for him to fix his coffee
"Adira"
he grabs my attention, my eyes jolting up to his"Yes?"
I snap my head up"why didn't you sleep?"
this time, he says it more sternly as if he's demanding me to answer"Nothing. Just a nightmare. Doesn't matter"
"that's not nothing"
"and how exactly would you kno-"
"because I do. Get your coffee" Ghost replied in a harsh tone as he walked away from me and sat down on the couch, but not with me where we always sits. He sits by himself on the other couch..alright
I fill my cup up with coffee and pick it up from the counter, walking to sit down on the couch
I stay silent, and so does he. He drinks his coffee and says nothing. This is my sign to stay quiet until he speaks. He obviously needs space for some reason, and I'm willing to give that to him if I need to
Minutes pass by and I hear an audible huff come from him, As if he was releasing stress from his body. This makes me quickly run over interactions between me and him within the time from when I woke up and sat down, and interactions we had yesterday
It takes me just a few seconds. It came naturally to me as a kid. I would always make sure I didn't upset my family by rethinking interactions before walking out my room or even just talking to them. It's something I did to avoid confrontation and yelling. Once I do a quick recap, I had then realized that so far, I haven't said anything that I assume would upset him.
