"When all's said and done, all roads lead to the same end. So it's not so much which road you take, its how you take it."
- CHARLES DE LINT

I'm sitting outside to the right of the base door on a metal bench, withstanding the heat to my best ability to keep myself away from the one person who can't seem to let me catch a break. Ghosts words don't hurt and i couldn't care less about what he thinks about me, but that doesn't mean he has a right to act like an ass. Maybe, just maybe, he'll understand that

After a few minutes pass by, the door opens. The one person I wanted to be away from the most is now the one standing beside me

"hi" Ghost says staring down at me

"hi" I reply back, I glare my eyes away from him

"Can I sit?"

he sits down without a response

"What's going on with you?" He says, turning his head to me as he waits for a response

"I don't know Ghost. Whats going on with you?" I ask, changing up what he said. When did the word me come into this?

"What do you mean me? Listen-"

"What did you really come out here for?"

He pauses, letting out a sign

"what happened with you the other morning? You ignored me, Or how you acted like you were dying when I grabbed your wrist? I could go on" he says squinting his eyes

"You shouldn't have touched me in the first place. Especially like that"

"Okay, I shouldn't have. But that's done with yea?" He says, clearly unapologetic

"Yea..right" I finally look at him, making him sigh

"What do you want me to say?"

"It's not always about what you say Ghost. It's about what you do" i stand up from the bench

"Why are you always trying to walk away from me?" He says standing up, getting in front of me

"Why-" I get cut off

"Stop. I'm sorry alright?" He nods his head in reassurance

I take a second to process the words in my head, yet that feeling just isn't clicking. I can see him looking down at me, waiting for a response

"I don't know Ghost. I really don't" I look up to him before I turn and walk inside

"Fuckin hell" he breathes out

I walk through the door and soap has obviously been drinking. He's sitting on the couch with his glass on the coffee table

"Having fun Soap?" I say with a smile as I walk up to him

"Very" he smirks, holding his cup in the air
"You want some?" He asks

"Oh, no thank you. I'm a bourbon girl" I laugh as I sit down beside him
