A New Alliance

Now that the both of our work is finished, I head inside the base to find Alex and Price talking to each other

"Having fun?"
I ask sarcastically. I'm not sure why I am the only one working around here today

"Oh, Adira. I was wondering if you could go look at Tchorts Log on the computer in my office. Laswell said she sent in new information on his records"

I let out a sigh that just barely covers my agitation

"Sure thing"
I give him a small smile as I head to his office

"I'll be in there in a minute, I need to talk with Alex"
He says with a small smile

"Why don't you tell him to do some light work then. I could use the help"
My voice now has an undertone of attitude which I didn't quite mean to come out. I walk into Prices office and close the door behind me, still able to hear their conversation

"She's a feisty one"
Alex says turning his head to Price with a smirk

Price laughs shaking his head
"You haven't seen nothing yet"

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think your recruit likes me Captain"
Alex states as he squints his eyes

"She doesn't like anyone Alex, I suggest you get used
to it"

"You sure about that? Because i don't see her clawing out your eyes like she almost did to me"
Alex chuckles

"Because i'm not anyone"
He states, tilting his head as he tries to inform Alex

Alex sighs
"Right"

"Don't stress to hard and maybe she'll let you see the light of day"
Price says as he gives him a reassuring smile

Alex snaps his head to prices door where I stand as i begin to come out

Speak of the dev-"
Alex's sarcastic words are cut off by a kick from Price to his ankle, and a following warning glare. He's already on thin ice, Price is just there to save his ass

"What's your login info"
I ask

"Look through my drawers you'll find the note"
He instructs and I walk back into his office, leaving the door open a few inches to hear them better

"So how come you never told me you had a new member?"
Alex asks curiously with a hint of confusion

"I can't say that was the way i intended for you two to be introduced, but let's say she's to be mentioned on her own terms"

"And why's that?"

"She doesn't want any more of the world against her, or more that want to use her as a damn machine instead of training their own bloody soldiers. No one can replicate what she has. To answer your question she doesn't trust people with her name after one to many people smashed it in the dirt just to bring it up again to military forces"

"Then tell me how to earn it so i don't spend my time walking on egg shells when she's around"

"She doesn't trust easy, Alex. My advice... Don't get on her bad side. Thats if you're not a bloody target already"
