Despite ghosts annoyance, we get out of my bed and walk out into the hallway that Soaps seemingly still walking down. He pushes his agitation away to try his best not to say something stupid to Soap so we can get training done with. I can't say the same for me. Training is the one thing I enjoy as long as I get time away from drama, but it seems that may be a little different.
"Boys. Querida.."
Alejandro states as we enter the living room, where he, Price, and Gaz awaits"Alejandro"
I reply with a nod, attempting to ignore the fact that he wasn't acting so sweet earlier. He can tell by my blank expression what I'm feeling, and decides not to engage to keep himself from making me agitated"Let's get this over with yea?"
Soap says to Alejandro and we head out the door after they rise up from their seats. As we head to the back of the base where Alejandro's helicopter lies behind, I stay a few feet back from the team, only for me to notice Price who's coming up from behind me
"Price"
I say to his sudden appearance"Adira"
He smiles"What's it now?"
I question"Just following behind to ask a question of my own"
"And that is?"
I turn, stopping in front of him"Still upset about Alejandro?"
I sigh slowly
"Not as much as before, but I'm not letting it go quite yet""I've had my fair share with Alejandro. I'm captain, and although he has a team of his own he goes back to, he can have his moments of trying to take authority"
He trys to reassure me. Price can be tempting to listen to, perhaps that's why I've developed a feeling of him being more of a father figure to me. After all, I never quite had one."I can see that. I just don't do well with people trying to have control over me. I've had it happen before and I won't let it happen again"
"Trust me, Adira. I know everything that's happened to you, that's why I always give you the loose end of the rope"
He pats me on the back with a comforting nodThe reality is, people only know what I allow them to know. I'd like to keep it that way. The only thing people know is the record of what I told them. What they don't know, is my secrets and decisions I made that I don't intend to tell them.
"Let's get moving"
Gaz shouts from the heli that they're already all in, and me and Price speed up to hop inside"everyone, strap up and sit down. We have long ride"
Alejandro shouts as he sits down in the pilot seatWe listen to his command as the ramp rises and seals shut as we slide the harnesses onto our body, tightening them in every place to secure them as needed. Surprisingly, soap couldn't get his on tight enough, bringing attention to himself
"Somebody help the hermano out"
Alejandro says from his seatI get up as I scan my eyes along the team who's already in place and stand up in annoyance
"Here"
I say, walking over to him as I tighten his arm and leg straps, requiring me to kneel down. I can feel soaps slightly embarrassed eyes on me as he trys to then look away, hoping ghost isn't looking... it's a little to late for thatI stand up after he takes his seat, ghost already buckled as his eyebrows raise under his mask with a tilt of his head
"Here I was thinking I was the only one you get on your knees for"
He teases"Say that again and I'll break yours"
I snap my head towards him with a threat"Don't threaten me with time"
His voice rasps and I can see his mask slightly outline that cheeky smile of hisI smirk and put my attention elsewhere as the engine starts up and the heli begins to rise
"Gonna be a little loud. Shout if you need anything"
Alejandro shouts from the cockpitWe all nod, entertaining ourselves with each others presence, or if your ghost, a butterfly knife. I never understood why he always takes it out on the heli
"The knife again I see"
I remark"Keeps me distracted"
"From what exactly?"
"Crammed space"
He says avoiding eye contact"Claustrophobic?"
I joke"After what my father did? Yea"
I can feel him go quiet, indicating I overstepped.
I feel a since of guilt wash over me as my oblivious question made me sit down into my seatGhosts eyes look over my now uncomfortable anxious body as I turn quiet
He tilts his head back, realizing I couldn't have known that was the reason of his behavior and he quickly intertwines his fingers with mine, scooting closer to me to hide our hands in between our two legs
I let out a deep sigh, letting the stress that was flowing in my body, out.
As we arrive at the needed hight over an empty field, the heli opens up, queue us to unbuckle from our seats and get ready to jump
*time skip*
We walk back into the silent base, making our way to our bathrooms that reside in our rooms. The last thing we want to be doing is sitting in our own stenching sweat
I walk down the hall reaching my room and exhaustingly walk inside, locking the door behind me, stripping my clothes off my body as I head into my small shower
Of course. I'm low on body wash. Body wash in a base runs low quick when you have men who think they need to use the whole bottle, meaning after they go into the stock room to get more, there's usually not many left for myself.
I lather myself with the rest of my light scented body wash and clean the dead grass out of my hair that it resided in after dropping in the field.
I have to admit... showering alone after training can be peaceful, but when you haven't spent time with someone you're dating, that loneliness gets annoying. If I hadn't locked my door I have no doubt Ghost would be finding his way into the shower
