I lay in my bed, my lights off as I wait for my thoughts to calm down. Alejandro isn't someone I want to be mad at. Since the second I got to the base he's been nothing but nice. I don't do well with attitudes or control, let alone authority. Well, too much of it at that. Maybe he felt like he had his reasons to say what he did.
For once I'm trying to see the good in another man. Trying to give someone the benefit of the doubt after they've done a lot of good for me, and the world.
The hours feel like seconds, and I don't realize that I've been staring at my ceiling for the past two and a half hours
My head jolts up when I hear two soft knocks at my door. I clench my teeth, staring at the door as I decide weather to open it or not. I don't know who it I-
"Decent?"
I gentle voice comes from the other side. A familiar one. And of course, the one who I was frustrated at"I- um. Yes?"
My door slowly slides open, and although my lights are off, it's still obvious by the voice that came before him. He softly closes the door and walks towards my bed, sitting down next to me
I swallow my pride as I wait for him to say something. He came in first, he needs to speak first
"I shouldn't have been so stern with you earlier. I was in a bad headspace, but that's no excuse for my tone... I'm sorry"
His voice, soft and smooth, not a rough patch to make me think he wasn't being genuine. Because that's what he was. Genuine. He was telling the truth I needed to hear to move onI nod my head with a smile and he immediately brings his left arm around my back, pulling me in for a hug. He hugs me with his arm gently, rubbing my back as I breathe out from relief
"How about we all take a break and watch a movie with the team"
He smiles and stands up from my bed going to my door to hold it open for meI'm not one to sit around and watch movies. I rather be doing something productive with the off time i have. Maybe that's just because i was constantly told by my father to do something when I sat down to relax. Maybe he was being an ass, or maybe that was the one time he genuinely wanted me to make something out of myself, and to teach me to never sit around and do nothing
"Fine. Just thirty minutes"
He places his hand on my back with a smile, happy that I'm finally willing to watch a movie• • •
"Look who's back"
Price says as we walk into the living roomGaz smiles from the loveseat, relieved I'm back with a better temper, but understanding why I had one. After all the bases I've been kicked out of, this is the first one with men that actually care about me. I just hope that Alejandro doesn't act like that again or i might not be so kind
Ghost is standing behind the couch. He might have a mask on, but i can see the agitation behind his eyes along with his clenched jaw. He's always been the one to be stand offish when it comes to ones who disrespect me, even if it's his own team. Only he can do that, if i allow him to, that is
"What are yall watching"
I ask them all"Found a bloody good movie if you ask me. Bodyguard defends the president, stuff like that"
Gaz insists"Better make it worth my while then"
I smile•••
15 minutes go by of the movie they chose, and I'm debating wether I should hit someone, or shoot someone"Alright, I can't take this anymore"
I laugh, standing up"What? Why not?"
Soap smiles with a small chuckle"I tend to not watch movies with bad actors and unrealistic scenes. Yall have fun"
I point to them, raising my eyebrows as I walk towards my room"I'll keep her company"
Ghost says annoyed, not bothering to be nice as he's still mad about earlierI walk into my room and my door shortly opens after me
I turn around to see who's behind me
"Yes. Just invite yourself in while you're at it"
I say sarcastically"So kind of you"
He says back with a head tilt, also holding sarcasm in a mocking manner
"I'm coming to keep you company. I don't like movies""Right. You just like making them"
I squint my eyes, plopping down on to my bedGhost follows, sitting down beside me as he lets out a long sigh
"Did price tell you about training?"
"Great. One more thing that's hidden from me"
I remark"We're doing 14 minutes of heli training. Short and sweet"
Ghost moves over and lays down beside me.
I slowly turn my head and observe his now relaxed body. His slow breathing. He feels my eyes on him and places his eyes to mine"Need something?
"Yes"
I breath out, moving towards him and sliding my hand against his cheek, wishing he could take this mask off for once. I lift the bottom up and place my lips on his. His soft lips make contact with mine, gently kissing my lips as he moves his hand to my thigh, squeezing it as it's his personal stress toy. I pull away when I hear someone coming down the hallway, and ghost quickly creates some distance between our bodiesMy door opens without warning, soap being on the other side
"Yes. Please. Invite yourself in soap"
I say surprisedHe looked to ghost and back to me. He knows he was coming in here, but didn't think he would be on my bed
"Since when do you let people on your bed?"
He intrudes"Since today. What do you want?"
He bites his cheek, eyeing at ghost with a suspicious side eye
"It's time to leave"
He says, not making eye contact with me as his eyes are still on ghost. I can see ghost clenching his jaw from agitation at his behavior, soap notices and heads out of my room, leaving with confusion flowing in his bodyGhost slowly looks to me and I could see the annoyance even through the mask
