"Do you go to school?" Wanda asked a few days later.

We were laying on the floor in her room, covered only with a blanket that had somehow made its way onto the floor with us.

"You've known me for nearly 2 months, have you ever seen me go to school?" I smirked.

"But you're only 18, surely you've still got a year of education left," she said, playing with my fingers.

"I went to a private school when Natasha took me in, but I dropped out last year, I couldn't do regular schooling as well as avenging, so I was home-schooled by Bruce until Sokovia happened," I told her.

She nodded, "has anyone heard from Bruce?"

"I don't think so. If anyone, we thought he would reach out to Tasha because he always had a thing for her, but he hasn't, not that I'm aware of anyway," I replied.

"I think Natasha would tell you if he did," she said.

I hummed, "I'd like to think so."

"Are you close with everyone on the team?" she inquired.

"I'm really close with Steve and obviously Natasha. Clint is amazing too but he's more like a dad to me, I'll take you to meet his family soon, they're amazing," I smiled, "Bruce was always nice too, very awkward but a nice guy. Stark and I have our moments, but we do get on. When I first moved in, I spent a lot of time in the lab with him, so we got quite close."

"You're like a big family," she whispered, pulling one of my rings off my finger and putting it on her own.

"You're part of our family too," I told her.

"I'm not," she smiled sadly, "but that's okay ... I'm like Sam. We're welcome here but we're not part of the family."

"You are but okay," I settled.

"Can I ask why you hated me so much at the beginning?" she asked, looking up at me.

"Do you remember the fight in the African scrap yard? You and your brother were working with Ultron to try and get vibranium," I recalled.

She nodded and furrowed her brows.

"So, you remember when you worked your little spell on all of us?" I continued.

"Fuck," she whispered, sitting up and covering her chest, "that was you?"

I nodded, "it was all of us ...I don't know what you did but everyone saw their worst fears."

She hummed, "I needed to distract you."

"Yeah, well, while everyone else saw their worst fears. Natasha and I saw our past; the red room, Dreykov, the um- the sterilisation," I finished, "I've never seen Nat like that before, whatever you did, it really fucked with her."

"Oh my god I'm so sorry, I didn't realise," she said sadly, cupping my cheek, "I'm so so sorry Y/N."

I nodded, "that's why I gave you the cold shoulder. I don't care too much if you hurt me, but you hurt Tasha and I couldn't stand for that."

She bit her cheek and nodded quickly, her chin wobbling, "I'm so sorry baby."

"I know you are," I whispered, "please don't cry."

She shook her head and closed her eyes harshly, silent tears spilling down her face.

"Come here," I sighed, opening my arms and letting her cuddle into me.

She wrapped her arms around my waist and burst into tears, her shoulders shaking and her breathing picking up.

"It's okay," I whispered.
