"Breathe in, feel the energy coursing through your veins. The earth connecting to your brain waves," Strange told us slowly, "and then breathe out, exhale all of that pent-up energy and unclog your pathways."

I breathed in and out with Wanda next to me, focusing on my breath and the way my chest rose and fell with the way I let the energy course through me. I looked over at Wanda and her abilities were wrapping around her body as her eyes were closed and she followed the same exercises as I did but my body produced fuck all. We had been in Kamar-Taj for nearly three weeks and so far, I am not any closer to accessing the books I need. Wanda had got on very well. She had made lots of friends and had access to half of the books in the library, her power growing more and more as the days went on.

"Y/N," Strange snapped his fingers in front of me, "are you even listening to me?"

I took a deep breath and nodded my head, "look at her, she's thriving," I said, looking over at Wanda again who was still doing her deep breathing exercises and letting her magic flow around her.

"She's strong," he replied.

I nodded again, "why am I not picking this up."

"Everyone is different," he told me, holding his hand over my chest, "can I?"

I shrugged my shoulders, slowly giving up on this form of magic until he placed his hand between my breasts and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and pushing against it hard. When I reacted, I looked over at him and furrowed my brows when I saw my body still sitting on the floor in front of him.

"What-"

"You've entered the astral realm," Strange told me, standing up and smiling at me, "if you can't tap into our power in our reality, try this one."

I nodded slowly, "how?"

"Do exactly what Wanda is doing, but here, outside of your physical body," he told me.

"Okay," I whispered, crossing my legs in the air and closing my eyes slowly, taking a few more deep breaths.

When I exhaled for the fourth time, I felt a little growth in my mind. Like a seed planting in the ground and finding something to latch onto it to help it grow. I smiled at the feeling of new life inside me and kept it growing, breathing in and out, thinking about the power in my bones. As the plant grew, a small purple flower popped out from the middle, blossoming very slowly.

"Now focus on that growth," Strange whispered, "think about it getting bigger and bigger with your abilities."

I nodded and steadied my breathing, feeling the flower grow a little bit more until it had fully blossomed, seeing it in its full form in front of me. When I opened my eyes slowly, I saw my own abilities wrapping around my physical body, small purple whisps dancing over my skin as my power grew. Everything around me was dark, the sun had set at some point and Strange and Wanda had left. I was the only one sitting in the courtyard and the only light was coming off my body. Smiling to myself, I kept the powers flowing, watching as the flower grew and grew until it was no longer one plant but a bunch of plants that blossomed from one seed. Being drawn out of my thoughts as someone tapped my physical shoulder. I felt my body shift back forward and when I opened my eyes, I was back in my body and I smiled up at my girlfriend whose eyes were shining perfectly in the morning sun.

"It's day?" I asked.

She giggled and nodded, "you didn't come to bed last night."

I shook my head, "I was here."

"All night?" she questioned.

"Y-yeah I think so, time moved so quickly, it didn't even feel like it had been that long," I admitted.
