... I took a deep breath and snapped my fingers, quickly appearing in Stark's New York apartment, accidentally switching on a very very loud alarm to blare through the room.

"So much for not making a scene," Wanda laughed, dropping my hand and creating a ball of energy in her palm as I did the same.

A very scared-looking Pepper Potts made her way around the corner with a frying pan in hand and her eyes narrowed on her intruders. When she saw who it was, she rolled her eyes and dropped her weapon.

"Friday, disengage alarm," she ordered.

"Very well Miss Potts."

"Hi Pepper," I sighed.

She laughed slightly and took me into a tight hug, "Tony told me what happened. I've been worried about you guys, where have you been?"

I pulled away and took a deep breath, thinking of where to start.

"And where is your hair," she added, looking at my bald head.

"It's a really long story," I smiled sadly.

"Coffee?" she suggested.

We both nodded and followed her through to the kitchen. I saw as Wanda looked around at the huge apartment that looked out onto Central Park with floor-to-ceiling windows and a fully furnished décor. Pepper nodded towards the sofas in the open-plan area and made her own way into the kitchen to make our drinks. I sat down, Wanda right up next to me and pulled her in for a side hug.

"Are you okay?" she asked me, cupping my cheek quickly.

I nodded and gave her a truthful smile, "I just wanted a hug."

She hummed and hugged me back, kissing the side of my head. When Pepper came back in, I crossed my legs and took the mug she had given me between my hands, holding it carefully as she sat down opposite us.

"You know," she started, "New York probably isn't the best place for you to be at the moment."

I nodded slowly, "we need Stark's help."

"You must be desperate then," she smiled.

We both nodded in response.

"Are you guys okay? Where have you been for the past six months?" Pepper asked, looking between the two of us.

"We've kind of been all over," Wanda replied, "we started in Nepal and then went to London for a few days, Sokovia for about a week and then ended up in Turkey and now we're back here."

"You really have been all over," she sighed, "I'm really sorry for the way things turned out. For what it's worth, Tony has been in a really weird headspace since the accords."

"The accords are the last thing on my mind right now," I admitted, "honestly I kind of forgot about them until you just bought it up."

"Sorry," she whispered.

I shook my head, "we all made our choices and we're all living with the consequences."

"Tony will be back soon, he just went for a run," she told me with a sad smile.

I nodded slowly and thought about what Natasha said a few months ago when she called, "have you heard from Maria?"

Pepper nodded and furrowed her brows, "she quit Stark Industries about a month ago and is now working directly under Fury."

"And she's okay?" I asked.

She nodded again.

"Can you ask her to call Natasha please?" I pushed.
