Chapter Fourteen: Her Father

Freen's POV

It's been exactly three months and two weeks since I haven't heard anything about Becky.

I miss her but I need to do something first.

I heard my secretary knocking at my door.

My eyes widen at the sight of my mother entering my office. She has her scaring aura making me groan. I know exactly what she's going to say. The same thing she has been saying for the past few weeks.

"Do you know what you're doing Freen ?" she ask. her eyebrows furrowed as she looks at the files on my desk. "Are you that crazy over that girl ?" she added.

"Yes mom, I'm aware of what I'm doing, you don't need to worry-"

"That's bullshit Freen !" she cut me off. this is the first time I heard my mom curse. "look at this" she threw me some photos where me and Becky's father was talking. It happened a week ago.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. "I know everything now mom. Becky didn't know about that contract. Her father talk to her secretary to make Becky sign that fucking paper."

She rolls her eyes. "Not because you talk to him, you already know everything. you still can't hold on to his words Freen." she sighs "You are just wasting your time talking to him. I'm asking you to be responsible instead of wasting your money to that girl."

"I'm willing to risk everything for Becky. And she's not just 'that girl for me' mom, you should know that." I said clenching my teeth. I hate it when she's addressing Becky like that. "She's the only one I wanted to have in my life. Yes, I'm not sure about her feelings towards me but I still want to be with her."

"Bring her this Sunday. We will have a family gathering and I want to talk to her. I want to clear things out about you and her." she says after sometime, her eyes showing something hard to explain. She starts to walk away "and don't you ever talk to that Robert again, I will talk to your dad to settle everything but don't you ever go near him. He is more than what you think he is. He can use anyone for his own good." she said before she finally stepped out and closed my office door.

My mind get blank at the sight of my mother's disappearance. I need to warn Becky about her.

My mom was a good mother indeed, but when it comes to me, she can do anything to protect me from anything.

Even to Becky.

But based on what she say, I know she already accepted Becky.

She just hated the fact that Becky has a father like that Robert.

Suddenly, I remember the day I talk to Robert Armstrong.

Flashback

"I came here to talk about this." I said and hand him the papers who have the signature of Becky. "I want to talk to Becky but I think I need to settle something from you first."

His eyes widen.

His reaction become suspicious.

"Y-You don't need to talk to her. I can talk to her myself after you said what you wanted." he said.

I observe his actions, his hands are shaking and his eyes are scanning the places like he's afraid that someone might see him.

"She didn't know about this am I right ? I ask him.

He can't even stare into my eyes.

"Don't say anything to her. I don't want her to hate me more. I talked to her secretary to make Becky sign that paper without even noticing what that was all about." he said after a while.

I hissed. "What kind of father you are. how could you do this to her." I said clenching my fist.

"Don't you ever question me about being a father. I will do everything I wanted to her because she's just my daughter."

What kind of father is this. He's using his own daughter for his own benefit.

"I'll give you the money you needed to pay for your depths." I said and took out a pen in my bag. "but in exchange, you will not meddle with Becky's life anymore." I open the envelope and gave him a piece of contract that my secretary made for me. "you will have the money after you sign this."

He didn't even read what's on the contract, he just sign and give it back to me.

"Give me the money now Sarocha and Becky will be all yours. She has no use after all."

I really hate this man. I want to punch him straight to his face but I need to hold myself. he's still the father of the woman I love.

I can't believe this is the father of the person I love.

I took out a black card at my bag and hand it to him.

"Don't tell Becky about this. It's all between us." I warn him before I finally give the card.

He smiles wide and takes the card to his wallet. He nodded and left without saying anything.

End of flashback

I took out my phone and dialed Nam's number. I need to tell everything to her. I know she's really mad to Becky after I told her about the contract. I need to clear things out before she gone wild and go to Becky. she's been so protective when it comes to me.

After maybe two rings, she finally answered.

"Hey babe, how are you ? do you want me to come over ?" her voice is so soft. it's because she thinks I'm still broken. I'm really lucky to have someone like Nam in my life.

"Are you at your office now ?" I ask diverting her question.

"I'm still at the office but if you need me to come over I can-"

"I will fetch you. I need to tell you something." I said to cut her words.

"Okay, but I need to give Kirk a call first."

She end up the call after that.

I started to clean my table and put all the important files in the drawer. I took out my car keys and got out.

I left a message to my secretary to cancel all my appointments today before I left the office.
