The boys and Grace were standing outside the house gasping for breath.
"Man," Jay breathed. "He's worse than Sensei Wu."
"Who knew your dad could be so serious about this stuff?" Kai added.
"Yeah," Cole said sarcastically. "Who...knew?"
Meanwhile several yards away, a certain two serpentine generals were watching the ninja.
"It'sss here," Skales exclaimed. "I can feel it!"
"Calm down," Pythor replied. "There's no need to attract unwanted attention."
Skales pointed. "Look! The ninja!"
They saw the ninja continue to practice their routine. "Aw, now there's no chance to take it."
"Patience, we're snakes remember? They'll never see us coming."
Pythor looked down at a poster he was holding. "Hmm, open auditions?"*At the talent show*
There were many different performers back stage practicing their act. Singers, dancers, even a beat boxer. And in the back were the ninja and Grace, who was watching them attempt to perfect their act with Cole leading them.
"Then kick ball change, barrel roll, barrel turn, then we all do the double wings-"
"Ow!" Jay exclaimed as he and Kai collided into each other. "Dude you gotta follow me!"
"Follow you? You're two beats off!"
"Actually, you're 2.72 off the beat," Zane added in.
"Guys, guys!" Cole interrupted. "Let's not make this any harder then it needs to be. We just stick to the plan and keep up the charade, until the trophy's revealed. Once we steal the blade cup, we can argue all we want when we get back home."
"But this is your hometown Cole," Jay said. "Don't you wanna win it?"
"Ugh," Cole groaned. "The only dance I wanna perform is called, get me out of this nut house, and let's burn these memories from my head!"
While Cole was saying that, Grace noticed someone behind them and tried to signal to Cole to stop.
"What, Grace?"
She pointed behind them. They turned to see Cole's father standing behind them with a disappointed look on his face. "What? You were going to...steal it?"
Cole sighed. "Dad? I didn't mean for you to hear that. But I'm glad you did. There's something I've been meaning to tell you. All these years, I haven't been training to be a singer or dancer. I found something new that I'm really good at! Dad," he transformed into his suit. "I'm a ninja. And the truth is, if we don't steal this fang blade-I mean blade cup-there are other people that will, bad people. Serpentine! And we need it to save the world. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm proud of who I am. And I want you to be proud of me too."
Lou shook his head. "I can't be proud of any son who thinks stealing is right. And I'm not going to wait around to watch you make a mockery of our family's legacy."
He started walking away. "Dad, I..."
Lou walked out the door.
"I'll go talk to him," Grace said and she ran after him.
Th others walked up to comfort Cole.
"I'm sure he didn't mean that."
"Maybe if he just saw you in action."
"No guys," Cole said. "I-it's okay."
Meanwhile Grace caught up to her father and tried to consult with him. "Look dad, I know you're mad but you should at least give him a chance to prove himself-"
Lou sighed. "I don't know if I can. Stealing is wrong and I won't stand for it!"
"But, like he said, he's only doing it to protect everyone!"
Lou just kept on walking. Grace sighed as she leaned against the wall, her hand touching a poster for the blade cup. Suddenly, she gasped as her eyes glowed white and she had a vision. She saw the boys on stage performing, and some serpentine jump up on stage to attack them. She also saw Pythor at the judges' stand and the serpentine in the audience.
She gasped again as she came out of the vision. Her father was staring at her.
"Grace, are you okay?"
"No time!" She cried as she took off running back towards the stage. "The boys are in trouble!"
