** Pic of Kabeer above ***
Her eyes lay open watching everything that was going around her. She first smelled her own blood and then, she smelled Kunal who was going crazy, calling for help. On the pathway, Richa had passed out in Rihaan's arms; whereas Kabeer frantically dialled for an ambulance. Kunal placed Sammy's head on his lap and caressed her like a baby. "Don't close your eyes Sammy, everything will be fine. I'll take you to the hospital." His voice trembled dangerously. Sammy smiled lightly to let him know she was fine, though it wasn't true; she couldn't feel her body anymore. "I am sorry, I should have told you everything earlier." He cried; regret filled his eyes.
"No. I-I trust you." She told him in a quivering voice. "I love you."
All her emotions flowed as tears blurring her vision; darkness engulfed her and before she knew she had reached the house from her dreams. But this time, she wasn't alone; a young boy played with her.
"I'll marry only you when we grow up" he told her and Sammy hopped happily like a bunny.
"But you'll leave tomorrow. How will you recognize me when I grow up?" With a frown, Sammy asked in a tender voice that of a child, as though reliving her lost memories.
"The moment I see the mark on your neck, I'll know it's you." Said the cute little boy who seemed older by few years.
"My husband!!" Little Sammy chirped, holding his hand and in the blink, she sank into oblivion. Everything was dark around her; it was as though she floated in space and time, when a firefly came in her view not far away. It seemed to ask her to follow it, but when she did, it felt like forever. Sammy was exhausted enough to give-up, when everything around her shone bright white and now, she walked on the clouds.
She suddenly remembered Kunal's tearful eyes and wished she could go back to him, touch him and hold him in her arms. That's when she spotted him standing at a distance, holding beautiful white lilies. He gestured her to follow him and no matter how briskly she walked she couldn't reach him; they walked until they reached a cliff top.
Kunal stopped at the edge, then turned around with a pleasant smile and with immense passion he told her, "I love you, Sammy." A smile popped-up her face hearing his voice, but a pat on her hand caught her attention. When she looked down, the little boy from earlier smiled innocently looking at her and said, "I'll marry only you when we grow up" Sammy stared at him open-mouthed, when she sawing something move, from the corner of her eye; Kunal had jumped off the cliff. Everything happened so fast and sudden, that she could neither comprehend nor act. She yelled his name as she cried until, a strong emotion tore her apart from within, regaining all her senses.
Her eyes flickered adjusting to the light in the room and then, she stared blankly at the unfamiliar ceiling. The machine next to her bed beeped loudly and the smell of disinfectants twitched her nose. Something warm touched her hand and a familiar intense voice snapped her to reality "Sammy, you are finally awake". The moment Kunal's affectionate face came in her view, she realized how much she yearned for a glimpse of him. But then, who was that boy? Why do I feel like I have forgotten something very important?
"Please wait outside, we need to examine her", said the doctor as he walked in with his set of interns. They all looked at Sammy like she was a ghost, as they penned down her pulse, blood pressure, sugar levels, eyesight, hearing and lot of other stuff she couldn't comprehend. She had a fractured leg, sprained neck, a minor head injury and bruises all over her body. "Do you feel pain anywhere, Samaira?" asked the doctor. How could she, when they had emptied a cabinet full of anti-inflammatories in her body?
