"What the hell!!" she murmured as they both bent down at once to pick the phone, which was thankfully still in one-piece and he whispered into her ears. "You look tensed. What happened?"
Really? Samaira stared at him wide eyed. "Do you... even know me?" Her brows furrowed, displaying her irritation. Kunal enjoyed how her face exhibited her every emotion; like a colourful painting.
The corner of his lips twitched into a smile. "It's impossible for anyone to forget you. But this is a secret mission, remember? Now let's get out of here and discuss it over a coffee. Wait for me a little ahead of the building exit and I will be there in ten minutes." He stood up and continued working, acting distant once again. Just a glance at his face told her, her numerous questions wouldn't even be heard there, so she quietly walked out room and headed straight towards the exit.
An open space a few blocks ahead; where spread the only greens one could witness amongst the developing concrete forest; also, Sammy's favourite spot, was where she stood. A sexy McLaren that drove past her, stopped near the pathway ahead. The glass rolled down and a hand popped out the window, gesturing her to get in.
Secret Agent- Kunal. Eyes rolled at back of the head, as she sat in the vehicle.
"There's this café that sell excellent coffee", he whispered and she had no idea why. No one was in there except them unless, someone hid in the trunk, or that, the car was bugged. But again, who even does that for a silly project? With all the mess she had created at work, her preoccupied brain was neither interested in the café, nor its coffee or Kunal's furtiveness. All she needed was a change of pace, to calm her mind and think properly. After buying them coffee, Kunal drove to his favourite hideout, assuring it to be peaceful. A hill? – Sammy gawked at it a little too longer, wondering how she didn't know there existed one, so close to her workplace. Walking all the way up the peak in the gleaming sunlight was quite a task, but when she saw what she saw atop, all efforts seemed paid-off.
The hill was like a small hump overviewing the city, making the concrete forest look tiny from where they stood. Kunal and Sammy cramped up on the only wooden log that lay there, holding their coffee cups; arms brushing against the other sending tickles to her skin. The large trees that shadowed the wooden log, made the place look pleasant even when the sun shone high in the sky. Cool breeze touched her face, calming her down in an instant. The view from the hill-top and next to her, were both outstanding. "This place is amazing. I am sure it must be magical in the night" Speaking in a dreamlike state, she glanced at Kunal.
Although glued to her, he seemed to have wandered far off in his thoughts, looking distinctly adorable. Sammy's lips curled up in a smile, wondering if he even heard a word of her compliment when suddenly, he spoke. "Where else can you find such peace and composure in this hectic world? I come here very often. It's like my second home."
No way... "You own this hill?" She gasped. Her face looked so comical that Kunal couldn't help chuckle his laugh. She seemed adorable. Brushing off the feelings roaring through his mind and body, he plainly asked, "So... What exactly happened in office today? You looked so furious, I thought you would blow up" motioning his free hand dramatically. Sammy saddened, inadvertently neglecting the hill ownership related questionnaire.
"I was dismissed withing ten minutes of my presentation. That female... Jass, didn't even let me finish. 'Follow the norms Samaira' she told me. Can you believe that?" Moving all over the place making weird faces and dramatical poses, hands planted on her hips by the time she was done venting out, she now waited for Kunal to respond.
"Oh..." His lips formed an 'o' making them look enticing and making her stare at them like a lunatic. "What is it with this look on your face?" he asked snapping her out from her thoughts. Touching her own face in spontaneity, she wondered if she looked silly enough for him to notice. "You look beautiful when you smile." He blurted out and blushed as he realized, taking in her weird obsession for his lips. At that moment, he didn't care if she was a spy, all he wished was to caress her cherry-plump lips with his own; his body set to act on its own.
