CHAPTER SEVEN

Sy Residence

"Good morning," Lowell greeted as he sat on the left side of his father in the dining table.

"How's your vacation in Boracay?" His dad asked.

"It was great!" he told and asked the maid to give him a coffee.

"Lowell," His mom uttered. "Alyssa already came back..." she added.

"Andrew already told you..." he uttered.

"No, not Andrew," His mom said. "Alyssa called me yesterday to say 'hi' and checked me..."

"Alyssa?" Lowell frowned.

His mom nodded. "...and she said, she met your girlfriend in Boracay" she added.

Lowell looked at his mom in haste. "S-she told you?"

"I'm glad to know that you already have your girlfriend, son" His dad tapped him on the shoulder happily.

Lowell smiled and sighed.

"Then introduced her to us," His mom blurted out. "...bring her to our anniversary."

"Your mom is right. We will be glad to meet your new love interest." His dad added then laughed.

What now Lowell? He thought as he started to have a headache. How will I make Catrin come to my parent's wedding anniversary? He sighed, feeling helpless.

"I will ask her first. You know...she is a busy person." He simply said then took a sip of his coffee.

Two weeks later...

"Lowell, can you please check my laptop...my communicator is not working," Catrin called as he was in the server room to do the back-up check.

"Okay, I'll just check after this." He said while reading the error report that prompted on the screen.

"By the way, yesterday an error alert prompted on the screen to remove the media from the drive," Catrin told and noticed him being serious today. "...I did remove the media and change a new one."

"That's correct!" Lowell simply said without looking at her "I saw it. Don't worry, I already updated the back-up schedules this morning..."

"I see," Catrin uttered and was supposed to leave when he stops her.

"Wait," Lowell said and paused to what he was doing and waited for her to turn on him. "...are you free this coming Sunday?" he asked. He should atleast try to invite her.

"Sunday?" Catrin frowned. "Why?" she asked instead.

"Ummm, nothing...just thinking to invite you...to..." he paused. How should I say it? Should I tell her about my parents' anniversary?

"I will not be around this week eh," she blurted out. "I'll be going for the training this week in Singapore..." she told.

"You will be here yet by weekends?" Lowell asked.

Why he's interested to know? Is he going to invite me out for real? No! I can't let this feeling overcome me again. I'll only get myself hurt if I continue to like you, Lowell. She thought. It's better this way.

"My flight going back to Manila will on Sunday eh," she answered, she lied.

"Oh, I see..." Lowell simply uttered. He blew out-breath. "Okay then...see you when you come back..." he added.
