CHAPTER TWELVE
Dela Vera Residence
"Ate!" Raffy waking up his sister as he shakes her shoulders.
"Raf, I'm too sleepy...tell mom, I cannot go with her to the supermarket," Catrin sleepily said as she remembered last night that her mom asked help to do the grocery.
Tsk! Raffy mumbled. "Lowell is calling you! You have 10 missed calls already!" he shouted to her ear.
"What the-?!!" Catrin moved up from bed carelessly as her brother shouted on her. "...what's your problem, Raffy?!" she furiously snarled.
Raffy gets her phone, pressed the answered key as Lowell calling again, he puts it to her ear. "Lowell is calling you!" he snorted and then leaves the room.
Catrin paused for minutes, holding her phone to her ear when she realized what Raffy said. "Lowell is calling me?" she unconsciously said. Then she heard a voice spoke over the phone. She looked at it and she gasped, covering her mouth not to let out her voice.
"Hello," Lowell spoke on the other line.
Catrin inhaled-exhaled first before she answered it. "H-hello..." she stammered in her husky voice.
Lowell smiled on that. She just woke up. Her voice sounds so serene. I'm excited already to see her every morning...and watch her sleeping.
"So, sorry to disturb your sleep princess," he started, deeply breathe. "But I have very important things to tell you now..."
"Okay," Catrin just kept listening. Oh my did he just called me 'princess? How I love to hear his voice in morning like this...
"I already told mom that we're getting married," Lowell told, not taking pauses in each word.
"What?!" Catrin drastically uttered. "But? I told you-" she was cut.
"You said...you want to prove to your friend that she's wrong, right? Then I am helping you out..." he muttered, sincere. "...getting married may not be the right thing to do but this might the best thing for us...to help each other..."
"Help each other? What do you mean?" she asked, curious.
"My mom and dad keep asking when will I get married or when will I propose on you. Since that day I introduced you to them...my mom never stops asking me everyday." He told then laughed.
Why is he taking this topic so easily? Catrin asked to herself. Is he not scared of getting married? Or is he ready for it?
"But Lowell? It's not as easy as you think..." Catrin said, still trying to convince him to change his mind, his decision.
"By the way, we will be coming there...into your house, to formally talk to your parents. We will be there tonight." Lowell simply added as he looked at his mom, who is now busy calling all their relatives to share the good news. That he is finally getting married. He sighed and at the same time smiled. Again, Catrin made my mother happy. Ready or not to get married, there's no turning back now. No one can stop me, us.
"What?!" It was the second time that Catrin said that line.
"See you later," Lowell sweetly spoke on the other line then hanged up.
Catrin stunned for minutes before everything finally registered clearly into her head.
"AHhhhhhhhh!!!" She shouted.
Her brother rushed into her room when he heard her voice upstairs. "Sis?!"
Catrin looked at her brother in teary-eyed. "Raffy, I have a problem..."
