CHAPTER ELEVEN
Lowell just let her cried as they kept quiet the whole time, on the way to her condo.
"Thanks for the company," Catrin uttered without looking at him, wiping her tears. She had been crying the whole time. When she saw him arrived, all her tears flown out and accepts his warm embrace. It was the very first time that she let a man saw her crying.
She's crying not because of Paolo, but she was crying because of her friend. Her friend doesn't even give her a chance to explain her side. Misty didn't bother to listen on me. She shouted on her over the phone and what's worst?
"I'm pretty sure... you'll gonna grow old alone. You will never find the right guy! You will never be happy! You will never be married!"
Her mind cannot accept those words. How could she say those things to me? I never do anything wrong to her. What the hell Paolo told her?
She was supposed to go out of his car when he held her hand tightly. "I know...I have no right to ask. But if you need someone...someone who will listen to you, someone you can cry on...I'm just here." He sweetly told, wiping out her tears. Please stop crying Catrin...I don't want to see you like this...
She smiled, tears flowing down again to her face. "You don't know how I appreciate that you are here..." She uttered in her controlled voice as she sniffed. "...really, thank you."
"Call me, when you need someone to talk...okay?" Lowell softly said, cupped her face, and smiled at her as wiping away her tears, one more time.
She nodded.
He kissed her on the forehead and then she turned away from him. Damn! I wanted to stay on her side...till all her tears gone.
She was supposed to go inside the elevator when Lowell surprisingly embraced her from her back. She gasped.
"L-lowell..." she stammered. What's this? Why he's doing this?
"I know...I shouldn't be doing this," he huskily said, only into her ears. "But if you want me to stay, I will stay..."
Catrin smiled on that as she held out his arms around her. "I'll be fine..." she murmured in a controlled voice. Sorry, Lowell...I need to be alone right now...
Lowell moves two steps back from her, bowed his head. "Tell me, if there's any I can do to mend your heart..." he huskily said, controlling his emotion. "...I just don't feel good seeing you crying."
"Goodnight, Lowell..." Catrin puffed without looking back and she fully entered into the elevator.
Lowell stayed there, even though, she had already left for more than fifteen minutes now. He stayed in the same position, clenching his fist on both sides. He was so angry. To whom?
He smirked sarcastically. I know...it was because of him, why Catrin crying now. It was him who made her cry. That despicable man!

Lowell's Pov
After that day, Lowell learned that Catrin filed two weeks' leave from work. He tried calling her but she's out of coverage area. According to her ops support, she was taking off from work and went out of town. But no one knows in the office, where exactly it was.
He been keeping himself busy, answering emails, and attending training but he can't really focus on it.
"Where are you?" he mumbled to himself.
"Who is it, huh?" Michael said as he just arrived on his back. He put down a folder into his desk. "Do you have a problem, bro?"
Lowell just shook his head, without looking at his friend. "I will review first these files," he told, browsing and scanning the files that his friend gave to him.
