All the ninja where gathered in the living room, eating snacks, talking, playing video games- over all having a good time. Cole was sat beside Kai, just chatting away until his phone started buzzing in his pocket. He raised a brow and pulled it out as Kai continued to talk, he looked at the name of the caller and his smile faded. "Sorry Flame" he interrupted "give me a second i gotta take this" he gets up and leaves the room, "oh ok.?" Kai saids with a worried face "jeez that didn't look good" Jay comments, "he's been down lately, maybe we should ask." Zane added "i don't know, what if that'll make it worse" Lloyd said scooting his way beside Kai.

"Hey dad, need something?" ..

"No dad" ..

"Ok im sorry" ..

"Don't say that" ..

"I know I know im sorry"..

"Dad."..

"Dad you told me you wouldn't bring her up."..

"Whats wrong with you.?!"..

"If this is the only reason you called me for, don't call me again. Ever."..

Cole looks down at his phone, his hand shaking with rage. His vision blurred due to the tears in his eyes, he couldn't believe his dad sometimes. He wiped his eyes before throwing his phone at the wall, his anger getting this best of him.

Choking back tears Cole stormed into his room and slammed his door once he was in it, "WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS?! Bossing me around when he wasn't there all my life?" He grumbled to himself, falling to his knees right beside his bed.

A small black haired boy sat at his small wooden desk, he had a cute small smile on as he doodled away. He sketched out what seemed to be a beautiful woman in white, her lips a beautiful dark pink and her black hair in a bun. He began to colour in her dark skin, but was interrupted by his door being slammed open. He jumped in his chair and looked up at the man now scolding him "your room is a mess! You're fucking disgusting Cole Brookstone!" His finger pointed around the room "im so sick and tired of you, clean this mess you brat!"

After the boy had cleaned his room, he slowly walked down his steep stairs. "He's driving me crazy." The voice made him stop in his tracks, he listened closely "please just take him for the night i need him out of my sight" the older mans voice full of anger and hatred. Cole sniffed back tears, rubbing his eyes as he ran back upstairs.

Cole cried into his covers, tears leaving spots of wetness.

Kai stood up "ill go check on him" he said looking down at his friends "are you sure? He may want some space" Nya said, looking up at her brother "maybe, but i want him to know im there when he needs it" he wasn't going to take no as an answer, and they all knew that "if you need any help come and get me" Jay said, being Coles best friend.

Cole reached into his pocket and pulled out something clenched in his palm, he kept it in hand as he continued to sob into his bed. There was knocking at his door, which made him nearly jump "Cole..? Its Kai can i come in?" Cole lifts his head up letting out a sigh "go away Kai" he muffles- and yet when Kai opens the door anyway, he wasn't shocked. He immediately looks away, not wanting to show his puffy face "didn't' i tell you to leave me alone" his voice uncertain "yeah ya' did" Kai answer in a soft tone, he walked over to his friend and sat on the bed right beside where Coles head is.

"Talk to me buddy"

Something about the one always made the other feel safe, maybe it was how Kais soft voice felt smooth, or how Coles hugs felt like a shield. Or how they were perfect for each other. The earth ninja almost immediately eased when he felt fingers softly glide through his hair, he let out
shaky breaths. He sniffed and cleared his throat "it's just-.." his voice cracked, Kai looked down at him. Watching as he turned his head into the sheets again, his body began to shake.

Kai sighed "rocky.." he got down on his knees beside Cole and snakes his hands under his arms "look at me" he told, grabbing a hold of his cheeks and softly turning his head. Cole looked at him as tears fell down his cheeks, his nose runny and his eyes puffy and red. He leaned in closer, wiping his wet lips "go on" he told him- making sure he knew all his attention was on him.

"He.. he thinks he can boss me around and tell me w-what im doing wrong- like he was ever there for me!" He let out a shaky breath, his eyes closed shut trying not to cry "i- i feel so weak for crying" he muttered, Kai let out a sigh- knowing all to well what he means "your not weak, its actually very strong to show your emotions" he moved Coles head to make him rest on his shoulder. It didn't take long for him to nuzzle up and rap his arms around Kai "i-is that why Nya is so strong?" The brother nodded as he lightly chuckled "yes thats why.." he softly rubbed Coles back. They sat in comfortable silence for a minute, feeling safe enough.

After a bit, the earth ninja brought his hand up and opened it.. revealing a small golden locket on his palm. He looked up at Kai as he was still rested on his shoulder "whats this rocky?" He asked taking the locket from his hand "you remind me of her.." he whispered as he watched Kai open the locket, his heart almost broke after seeing Coles mother in it "your so much like her.." the red ninja bit his lip as he held back his emotions "oh Cole.." his eyes softened. He felt a hand run up his chest and rap around the side of his neck, sending shivers down his spine. He smiled and opened his mouth to say something but felt lips on his neck, he froze up and felt Cole nuzzle up again after giving him a kiss.

"Thanks Kai" he whispered, Kai began rubbing his back again "anytime" his body heating up.
