Later on, we got a text from Mindy that she wanted us to have a meeting at the park. By 'us', I mean all of us. Including Mindy, Chad, and Tara's new friends who are Annika, Ethan, and Quinn. It's going to be a meeting like we had last year at her house.

"Alright, nerds, listen up!" Mindy loudly announced as she's standing in front of us while the rest are just sitting. Chad had a notebook and pen out to take notes. "As terrifying as this all is, I'm actually glad I have a chance at redeeming myself...for not calling the killers the last time," It's like Mindy was acting that didn't bother her, but it does evidently. "Okay, the way I see it, someone is out to make a sequel to the requel."

"Shocking..." I muttered sarcastically, knowing that the killers would always do their own movie.

"Um, what's a requel?" Annika asked, being confused.

"You're beautiful, sweetie, but let's hold for questions til the end." Mindy replied.

"Stab 1 took place in Woodsboro." Sam mentioned.

"And Stab 2 took place in college," I added. "Our grandmother and some guy was the killers."

"So, do we think that the killers are trying to copy the movies?" Tara assumed.

"That is one possibility," Mindy pointed at her and then looked at all of us. "Heroes are in college. Check. Suspicious new characters brought in to round out the suspect list and or body counts. Check, check, and check."

"I don't like this." I heard Ethan say.

I was pretty much not fazed by all of this at this point.

"If you survive this one, you'll get used to it." I told him. Not sure if that was encouraging or not.

"But it can't just be about Stab 2." Mindy smiled.

"Why not?" Tara wondered.

"It would make sense if we are in a sequel, but we're not in a sequel because nobody just makes sequels anymore." Then Mindy paused herself. Knowing her, it was for a dramatic effect.

"We're in a franchise." I realized, remembering Randy's video for me about his survival rules and tips.

"Thanks for stealing my thunder, Kincaid." She complained, glaring at me.

I just rolled my eyes.

"There are certain rules to a continuing franchise."

"I had a feeling..." Sam sighed, looking down.

"Rule number one: everything is bigger than last time. Bigger budget, bigger cast, bigger body count. Longer chases, shoot outs, beheadings. You gotta top what came before to keep people coming back."

"Beheadings?" Chad repeated.

"Beheadings. Rule two: whatever happened last time, expect the opposite. Franchises only survive by subverting expectation. If the killers last time were whiny, snowflake, film nerds with letterbox accounts instead of personalities, you can bet the opposite will be true here. And rule three: no one is safe. Legacy characters? Canon fodder at this point. Usually brought back to get killed off in some cheap bit for nostalgia," Then she started to cringe. "It's not looking too good for Gale or Kirby."

I hated how anyone I love and care about have the good chance to get killed off. Dewey and Judy was one of the legacy characters that got killed and I didn't want that to happen to anyone else.

She groaned. "Oh, this is not even the worst part."

"This is the part where she tells us the worst part." Chad muttered as he's writing something down in his notes.
