<Brin's POV>

We came into the house after our little endeavor to the bomb factory. Jake came right in set his stuff down and plopped down on the couch. Annie went upstairs and got her drawing stuff, Mary and Wyatt went outside to do heavens knows what. I just stood there in the hallway, looking stupid.

"So, do you guys want to do something?" I asked looking over to Jake and Taina. Taina was my older sister, she had vibrant red hair with green eyes with a hint of blue in them.

"Sorry," Taina said going upstairs, "I have homework. I have to get all of my college resumes out," she walked past me and ran upstairs.

"How about you Jake, do you want to do something?" He looked over at me, "sorry, my friends are coming over,"

"Oh that's right your 'friends'," I said, "you mean your imaginary friends?" He narrowed his eyes at me and it took all of my strength not to laugh.

"Shut up Brin, at least I have friends," he said looking away from me. Ouch! That hurt. I didn't have friends, and I knew that. I just think all of the people around me are either sluts or idiots. It's based on my opinion, "I can get a friend if I wanted to, I just have been busy,"

Jake laughed to himself, "yeah, sure 'busy',"

"I have!" I said moving closer to him.

"I bet 50 bucks you can't get a friend by the end of this month,"

"Deal," we shook hands. I walked out of the house. 'How am I suppose to get a friend?!' I thought to myself. I walked down the road, just then I saw a couple walking into a driveway. The girl had fiery red hair with green eyes, and the guy was absolutely gorgeous! He had brown hair with green eyes.

I think they noticed me looking at them. They turned around and locked eyes with me. They both turned pale? The boy grabbed the girls hand and dragged her into the house. What was that for?! I walked up to the house and knocked on the door. suddenly a cute boy appeared in the door way. He had blonde hair with blue eyes.

"Hey," he said looking at me.

"Oh, hi" I said looking past him and In to the house. It was a small house but sort of had the home feel to it. He stepped in front of my view of the house. I looked back into his eyes.

"Did you need something?"

"No," I said quickly, "I was wondering if you saw two people come to this house, I mean before I knocked on the door?"

"Yeah, that was Ro-, ow!" He said looking into at somebody behind him, "Sorry I mean Emma and Nathan," he said, "they're my roommates,"

"Okay, is it okay if I talk to them?"

"Yeah, one minute," He said walking into the house. I waited for what felt like forever. Suddenly they both appeared at the door.

"Hey," the girl said. The boy was holding her hand. I wish someone could love me like that.

"Hi," I said, "I'm new in the area and I was wondering if you knew where the gym is?" Seriously Brin! The gym! You hate the gym, you prefer to work out at home. They both looked at me with confusion. Suddenly the boy started laughing.

"Nathan don't be mean," the girl said letting go of Nathan's hand. He instantly stopped laughing and caught her hand again. She stopped and looked at him, she rolled her eyes. She pushed his hand anyway from hers.

"I'm sorry about Nathan he is just really protective over me," she said, she held out her hand and I took it willingly.

"No it's just fine, I'm Brin, Brin Hunter,"
