After Life (BOOK 2)

Chapter 20

My head was pounding and I felt cold. I stood up and there was light all around me, I looked around to figure out where I am. Suddenly I heard the faint click of heels walking towards me.

I turned around to see two figures, with hoods, walking towards me. I stared at them in confusion. When they were upon me I held my breath and closed my eyes not wanting to look at them. I felt them pass by me and continue on their way.

I let out a sigh of relief, "Rose?" Okay what's happening here?! I opened my eyes and looked around to see if I saw anybody. But I couldn't see anybody.

"Rose," I heard the voice again! I spun around looking in every direction.

"Who's there?!" I yelled into the brightness. I felt like everybody could see me. Even if I couldn't physically see them I knew they were around me just staring at me. I get a chill that runs down my spin.

"Rose," I hear again, "I'm here Rose, listen to my voice," I fall to the ground holding my hands over my ears not wanting to here that voice again.

I didn't even realize I was crying until I felt a tear roll down my cheek and onto the white floor. I felt somebody touch my shoulder and I jump up faster than you can say Mississippi!

I looked at the stranger and realized it was a woman. She had long red hair, with vibrant green eyes that were filled with hope, love, happiness, and joy. I just stood there looking at her.

"Rose?" She asked

"Mom?" I asked. She stepped forward and placed a hand on my cheek looking into my eyes

"My baby Rose," she said wrapping her arms around me. I instantly wrap my arms around her waist holding her close to me. I missed her so much, "Rose why are you here?" She asked pulling away from me.

Wait. If I can see my mom that can only mean one thing. I'm dead. Lily killed me, Meg doesn't remember who I am, my dad is died, and Nathan..... Well I don't know what's up with Nathan!

I begin to sob. I cry for me, for Nathan, Meg and my dad. I feel my mom rub my back soothingly. I take a deep breath, closing my eyes to try and stop the tears.

"I-I don't know wh-why I'm here, mom," I said speaking softly, "am I died?" I asked lifting my head up to look at her. She gives me a sad smile and stands up.

"Not yet, but you will be if we don't get you back," she said. She grabs my hand and we sprint towards a light.

Once we reach that light I can see into it. I see my body and Nathan lying there looking pale, "mom I'm so sorry about Dad," I said not meeting her gaze.

She grabs my chin and makes me look at her, "don't you dare apologize for that. I have your father now," she said looking behind me. I turn around and see my dad walking to us. He looked more young and full of youth.

He was smiling at me. I ran towards him and wrapped my arms around him, "Dad!" I said

"Hey Rosy," he breathed into my ear. I pulled away from him and stared deep into his eyes. He never looked this way before.

"I'm so sorry, daddy," I whispered in a soft voice. Tears forming in the corners of my eyes.

"It's not your fault Rose," my dad shad sternly, "you have to go back,"

"Why? Nothing matters anymore. My family is gone," Also Nathan. I added in my head.

"No. Rose, you have Meg. Susan. Felicia. Kaytie. Ben. And even Tyler. Heck, me and your mother will always be with you no matter what. Go back for them," he whispered.

Suddenly all the light surrounding me disappeared. I felt my dad step away from me, "Dad? Mom? Please don't leave me again!" I screamed into the darkness.

I looked around and saw a little distant light flickering in the distance. I ran. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. All I knew was that light was my ticket back home. So I ran.

I saw the lighting growing dimmer and dimmer. So enough I was right next to it. I looked behind me to see my Mom and Dad staring at me with adoration in their eyes, "we love you Rosy," the both yelled to me.

"I love you too," and with that I jumped into the light. Feeling pain instantly.

Okay this isn't the last chapter so don't freak out! I feel like this is a good stopping point, and sorry for all the cliffhangers (JK)! I believe the next chapter WILL be the last one, I'm not quite sure yet. Oh and guess what?! The next chapter will be in Nathan's POV!!! Yeah!

The picture above is Roses parents. That means it's Roses real mom! Remember, Susan has black hair and Kelly (Real Mom) has red hair.
